Hardtop Window flare...

Hey All,
So I went hunting with my father this past week in the Bronco (so much nicer than the old F350). However it was pouring down rain and we were doing some road hunting between walk in spots, we had the windows down, all the water from the hard top runs to the front corners and drips down and goes inside the cab. Like, pants soaked, shirt soaked, like there was water on the floor board lol.
Anybody have any idea since I can't find any window flares or anything to deflect or have the water run else where? My only idea was to run a bead of silicon at a angle to hopefully runthe water back or any other direction other than to the front corner?

I'd check that your hardtop is fully seated and that the side seals aren't getting kinked anywhere. When I had my hardtop on, I would regularly blast it through automatic washes with zero drips.

I rented another hardtop model in Hawaii, and its seals were kinked along the sides, and water came in just as you described.

I'd check that your hardtop is fully seated and that the side seals aren't getting kinked anywhere. When I had my hardtop on, I would regularly blast it through automatic washes with zero drips.

I think he means when he lowers the window it pours into the cab. Ive experienced that myself.

I didnt notice if it works with hardtop or not but they do offer a 2dr option so probaby so. Looks a little goofy IMO but if it works then whatever.

Ah gotcha, I just reread the original post.

I also experience the same when rolling my window down, it sucks.

It sounds funny but I get it. Most cars have rain channels designed to run it off to prevent pouring in when opening.

No drip rails, big problem when raining and windows down …. I m sure the design helps eke out another 0.0001 mpg above 65 mph.

Engineers and CAFE standards have lost any common sense on these things anymore; some people might actually use their vehicles in a wet, off-road condition and DONT want their windows up!!!! Rant over.

My 1972 Blazer had rain drip rails built into a great fiberglass top that was pretty bullet proof. So much for technology. Jim.
