Finished mine yesterday. Sounds better for sure. I left the cargo floor in and was able to get the panels out and back in just fine. I removed the sub assy and did the speaker swap on a table. Remember to cut the speaker wires right at the connectors because you need all the length you can get. There's a small plastic locator pin that will keep the speaker from sitting flush. I used a pair of flush cut pliers to remove it. I ended up using 2 different types of screws as I didn't have the amount I thought I had.

So, black with white stripe is the negative for polarity to the sub? Assume from picture you clipped right at dummy speaker, stripped a bit of conduit, and plugged the bare wire end into sub?

Yes, that's why I threw in a closeup pic. (y)
thank you. i'll be sure to keep an eye on each detail from the fusion amp/kicker sub addition threads. Good info in here and elsewhere. Thanks for that pic!

Any rattles? Did you use any sound deadening behind sub assembly, or poly fill inside? I bought deadening materials , but don’t have any poly.

Just curious, why can’t you access Forscan? I bought that connector thing on Amazon, now I need to go to the Forscan website to download the program for Windows I believe. I also have no idea what I’m doing lol but I’ll watch those videos linked above.
Because I don't have the parts I guess. Just seems like wading into too unfamiliar territory. Someone mentioned earlier about messing around too much and throwing a code or something. I don't want that. I know I can watch the videos, and I have done a lot over the years off of youtube videos, but computers are rather foreign to me. I'm sure I'll figure it out, probably don't have a choice really. Oh well. Thanks.

Watch dome videos on using Foscan, it can be intimidating but its not difficult to use. You can take a back of your rigs current "setup" so if something goes wrong you reset everything back to they way it came.

You would really have to try to mess anything up however.

I installed my Fusion amp and 6.75" Kicker (4 ohm) subwoofer yesterday. Went fairly smoothly - about 3 hours total. I didn't think to reinstall the foam ring from the stock "speaker" assembly - I may try to do that when I fix the broken panel connectors, though I don't know how much difference it will make.

The sound quality is WAY better than the 6-speaker version - the audio "fills" the interior now, aside from having some actual low-end. I am glad I installed the 4 ohm instead of the 2 ohm Kicker - the bass is plenty loud with the 4 ohm version.

A couple of lesson-learned notes: It is hard to remove the large side panel without breaking at least one of the trim connectors. It's possible, but tricky. I will need to order a couple of replacements.

Also, I recommend you plug the speaker/amp connector in BEFORE you screw the Kicker to the enclosure. Ask me how I know. As someone else said, you need every bit of the speaker wire to make the connection between the speaker and the amp and although it will work, the speaker needs to be oriented in exactly the right spot to have enough slack.

Finally, the FORScan modification was straightforward, but I had some trouble getting the interface to recognize the vehicle. I was using the OBDLink EX FORScan Adapter, as recommended, with a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect to my laptop. After having no success, I finally removed the USB-A/C adapter and used a multi-device dongle that has adapters for USB-A, ethernet, video, etc. and it worked fine. Go figure.

Anyway, I am very happy with the improvement! Cheers!

Pretty much, you do have to clip the ends of the speaker leads and strip the wire back to insert in the Kicker sub terminals. Very easy.
Kicker didn’t come with very much information. I’m assuming black is negative and red is positive on the sub. Correct? Doing this now on my 2dr and do not want to take the interior piece off ever again after this. Pain in the 🤬! 😂

If anyone needs a hand, or guidance, and wants to take a trip to central Ohio, I'd be happy to help. I have a little experience with swapping in a factory 2023 sub/amp, and can guide you through making the changes in Forscan (I won't modify your code, but I can get you hooked up so you can push the buttons at your own risk). I also filled the fender cavities with poly fill, killmatted all of the cargo area, and have only replaced my rear 4" speakers with Infinity Reference's (turned the rear speakers to "speaker" in Forscan). I'm very pleased.

Sorry man, I can't. I took a factory takeout from a 2023 and put it in mine. My experience is with taking the floor out, removing the panels, putting in killmat and enabling the sub in Forscan.

2dr? If so, how much of a pain in the 🤬 was your side panel to get off? I broke one clip and ripped a piece off near the 12v/light assembly.

Yes, the red is positive and black is negative. On the amp harness, the black is positive and the white stripe/ black is negative.

Thank you! I figured that’s what it was, but before putting everything back together i wanted some confirmation. Waiting until morning to put it back together and running to Ford service to get a blue clip I broke.
