Bit of background - 2023 bronco badlands 4 door with a manual and lux package. Just got this thing a few weeks ago after months of looking. I hardly ever drive it, has about 600 miles on it.

So this was a fun way to spend the afternoon….

Took it across town for a meeting. As I’m turning in to the parking lot, everything shuts off, almost as if I stalled. I figured I had missed a shift or something and went to restart it, when a million warnings come on. Hill assist malfunction.Lane assist offline. Service vehicle soon. Pre collision assist unavailable. Check engine light on. Probably 20 different warning messages and lights. It seemed to never stop. Meanwhile I’m trying to restart the car as I’m rolling through this parking lot, but it won’t turn over. The starter goes but it never starts. Still tons of warning lights when it finally comes to a stop, right in the middle of the driving lane of the parking lot. Pushed it into a spot and went to my meeting, figured it might fix itself if I let it sit for a bit. No luck with that, same issue when I came back to it 2 hours later, refuses to turn over, all the warning lights come on anytime you try to start it. I checked all fuses and pushed a few tight. Disconnected and reconnected the battery. Nothing changed. I finally gave up and had it towed to a dealership. Made it there in time to check in right before they closed for the weekend, so I won’t know anything more until Monday.

anyone experience anything like this? I’m so frustrated right now, this thing is brand new and I was not expecting this. Looking for any and all answers or theories on what the hell might have happened to cause such an issue. I’m so glad it didn’t happen on the highway because it affected pretty much everything, even the power steering. Could have been really bad. It’s seriously making me consider selling it once it’s fixed. How could this happen to a brand new car??

I heard there’s some bolt in the fuse box that might not have been tightened at the factory. Someone made a checklist to go over when you receive your Bronco, and those fuse box bolts is listed…and symptoms match.

Search for, "Owners Checklist for Delivery". Also, make sure your battery terms are tight.

Thank you both for your helpful replies. Was able to find the checklist. I checked that the terminals were tight when I reattached them but didn’t check the fuse box bolts. Hoping that’s it! Will be going through the checklist thoroughly once I get it back.

Not the same symptoms, but when my ‘22 Badlands, manual, SAS Lux first arrived, it had over a dozen different electronic issues, anything in the steering wheel and GOAT controls. In my case it was a loose connector to one of the main processors and was an easy dealer fix. It would start and run fine otherwise though…hope you’re able to solve it quickly. I love mine.

Everything you described happened to me yesterday while out of town. My family and I we're at red light, busy main street, when the bronco started to shake.

Luckily the light just turned green and I was able to park it on the side of the road and it shut off. I attempted to restart it multiple times, but it wouldn't turn over.

I checked for loose bolts and then received a jump start. Didn't change anything. Full tank of gas.

I have a 2022 2.7l big bend 4door with auto transmission. I can't believe it's having these issues with only 12,000 miles on it.

Thank God it didn't stall out on the main street or highway.

We have a 2022 Badlands Sasquatch automatic w 2.7. We had a couple of episodes that were like what you described. We would get Hill Assist Fault randomly and then while turning right and accelerating it stalled but didn’t completely shutdown. It recovered in a couple seconds and went on.

A few weeks later it completely went dead while driving but we were able to get stopped and restart it. In total we went to the dealership 3 times with me stating the 3rd time I wanted it repaired before it came back.

They kept it for 3 days but it has run like a top since. Multiple off-road and rock climbing excursions and 12000 highway miles with not a single issue at all.

The tech wrote it up as no trouble found but I demanded they check every frame ground in the vehicle, fuse box bolt, PCM connector/ ground, alternator connections and battery/power distribution. They did something right even if they didn’t know it.

Yikes! Sounds very similar to my issues. Hope you get it sorted! Are you going to take it to a service center?

thanks for your reply, will definitely make sure the techs check all of these items before I take it back. Appreciate knowing you’ve Gina off-roading with yours since the fix, that’s one of the big things we’re now worried about!

glad to hear you’ve been loving it since these issues got fixed and haven’t had any problems. Hoping to have the same attitude once this is fixed! Just such a bummer to have something like this happen on a new car.

Definitely…even with all the planning and good work they did preparing for launch, it goes to show how important the details are. I was patient since I understood it was the first year of production, but they should have these things worked out by now. The flip side of this, however, is that dealer service departments are overwhelmed. I was lucky they prioritized me. If I want them to change my oil, it’s leave it for the day and heaven forbid you require diagnosis or a part that isn’t available. You can deal with one or the other, but not poor initial quality AND poor service turnaround.

Mine had gremlins on the way home from the dealer. Dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Got home checked the battery. Battery was almost dead, wouldn't take a charge.. Dealer compensated me for a new battery and it's been great since.

Hi there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.
