Wanted a mesh top to protect the noggin since I ride Kojak style. 😁 Already quite a few options on the market and started to overthink things as usual. Had a Spiderwebshade on my Rubicon and loved it so ended up buying the basic black one from them. One word so far - awesome!

Big shout out to these guys, I ordered it on a Wednesday morning week before the 4th of July and had it on my doorstep on Friday at 10 in the morning. I did pay the $11 for expedited shipping but that wasn't bad. Very impressed on their communication, they updated when it shipped and when FedEx delivered it, don't usually get that from the vendor.

As far as the top I am again very impressed and am just as happy as the the one on the JL. Heavy quality mesh, filters out the sun but can still see through it, and has the right amount of gap all around so i don't feel like I'm in an enclosed vehicle. The bungees attach easy, only have to add four nubs to the rear area that sit in threaded holes already there. I think it took me all of 10 minutes to install it the first time, and could remove it and install it again in less than 5 minutes, it's that easy. I personally love the look of the roll cage and didn't want to hide it or put velcro all over it so it fit that need as well.

I've had it on since July 1st and probably won't be off for a while. With the windows up at 65-70 mph the wind inside is hardly there, and it's relatively quiet. Top doesn't flutter hardly at all and is solid in front. Windows down you get more wind/noise but top still stays nice and tight with no added noise or anything bothersome. Got caught in one rain shower and it let's rain through, but you get to highway speed and not sure if it helped or just the aerodynamics but stayed dry. Best thing is the oncoming traffic is no longer blinded by the shiny reflection of the sun off my head!

So if you are looking for a mesh top definitely take a look at spiderwebshade.com and check them out.

Do know if this works with hard top? Can leave it on once installed?

I wouldn't think so as there is little chance you could reach the latches in the middle. But, that was not a big deal for my needs as I wouldn't want a mesh top up anyway under my hardtop. Plus, this one is so easy to remove it would take less than 5 minutes to take off or install so no big deal. I do think you could probably unhook the front and roll it up and tuck it over the rear bar under the hardtop but haven't tried it yet.

You definitely need to remove the spiderwebshade with the hardtop.

The front clips go into hardtop latching points and you wouldn't be able to reach all of the other latches anyway.

That said, it literally takes one minute flat to add or remove once the mounting points are in place.

I recently got one for my 2-door and also love it!

I have a 4-door and left the shade on when I put the entire top back on (I was going to park at the airport for a few days). It wasn't an issue getting to the panel latches. I did have to unlatch the front latching points and one on each side...all other were left in place.

I guess I could have taken off my spiderweb shade before putting the hardtop back on, and taking the shade off would have taken only a couple of minutes and less than 5 to put it back on.
