Finally got this into the dealer 3 weeks ago. They couldn't replicate it so they did nothing. I then told them I had it on video (several in fact) and while they resisted being willing to watch it, eventually they couldn't come up with an answer for what the difference was if they saw it on the video vs. saw it in person. I was assured they would send it into Ford to see what they get for a response and would call me once they heard back. Nothing to this point, so I will see how it goes when I call them today about it.

Has anyone had this issue successfully repaired/resolved? I am experiencing the same issue.

Just confirmed they are ordering a new motor and will likely get it installed in a week or two. Will update if it fixes things.

I have been having this issue too. Already took my Bronco in for multiple warranty claims. This is my first SUV and the Florida rain is really testing me with this wiper issue.

Mine was in the shop for months and is not fixed. It seems to be the same as when I dropped it off.

Safety workaround of sorts, use Rain-X on your windshield. If discussed already, TL:DR.

Hey there, Joe! Can you please send me a DM with your VIN and dealer name/location so I can look into this wiper concern for you? I'd be happy to see what I can do to assist!

That's what dealers say when they just want to get you out and get the next person in. They have no incentive to care, especially if you bought from a different dealer. Direct B2C auto sales cannot come soon enough.

Hey FoMoCo, lots of others have posted about this issue on this thread and you didn't ask for their information, myself included. Why the sudden interest in this serious safety concern. All I got from my dealer is the printout of the smart motor operation, they did not want to look at it. I pulled the top off mine in order to not drive in the rain endangering myself and others; it has to stay in the garage if there is even a possibility of precipitation.

What would you like the dealer to do? Just start replacing parts that wont fix anything? Ford has already said this is the way "smart wipers" are designed to work, so until Ford does something about it or acknowledges an actual problem with it, it's unrealistic to expect a dealership to do anything. You're blaming the wrong people.

Also B2C auto sales wont change who repairs your vehicle under warranty. Ford isn't going to authorize independent shops to repair their vehicles under warranty 🤷‍♂️

I’ve had mine in Dave Sinclair Ford. They couldn’t find the problem either. They thought it might be an issue with the sensitivity setting that kicks in to prevent the wipers motor from overheating. I get that part if your windshield is covered in ice and snow. But just a normal rain, that’s a big problem.

In moderate to heavy rain mine will always slow to turtle mode intermittent after 60 seconds. I have to drive with my hand on the stalk moving from high/low speed constant to intermittent and back every minute or so or I'll crash into something.

It's not good.

You know the TSB Ford issued is causing dealers to tell customers that this extremely dangerous issue is "working as designed" right?
