I wonder if the good citizens of Granger are thinking everyone in the country drives a Bronco..

probably be shocked to go to any other city and only see 1 or 2 broncos a day instead of 20 or 30

Great info, thanks! How did you find the weigh station you used? Or did you just go to a Ford dealer and have them do it? Or can the smog check places handle?

I tried googling but wasn't getting an obvious correct answer.
DMV dude said he could not endorse any specific place, but said there were "a few that way" ;)
I looked for Weight Station or Public Scale. I asked for a recommendation at the weight station for a smog check place and went there.

Looks like my Eruption Green is at the end of the line in that final shot!
I though it was mine but that one has LED tail lights. Going thru this like the jfk film I need the call!

The one in the middle could be mine. Looks like my exact build. Tracker isn’t showing me in final preparation yet, but my Bronco has been at Omaha for awhile (per Ford customer service). I had a 4/25 build date, and 4/27 ship date.

Waiting on the call is worse then the scheduling email! I'm sure a lot of us are in the same boat with limited time. I don't want to be upset with Granger but Ford has found a way to sour the relationship! Granger is swamped with vehicles and I'm sure they are trying their best to process as many as possible but we are loosing out on personal interactions! I know it probably doesn't matter to most but my interactions with Albert set the tone for how I wanted our relationship to go, not this take a number and we will talk to you at an undisclosed time.

I’m not usually a patient person but in this instance I’m ok with giving Granger a wide berth. I think their MO is reasonable - if they take the time to answer phones and a bunch of e-mails it’s just going to slow the entire process down for everybody. I’m sure that everyone there is working as fast as they can. Just my 2 cents.

You are correct, and I want to be as understanding now as I have been for the rest of the process. I just tend to think that there could be some improvements with the current communication process. I'm going to be in town on Friday, there's only 6 race red broncos on the lot per the pictures. I asked on Monday to pick up while I'm there and I've gotten nowhere with an firm answer. If the answer is NO then ok I'll schedule another 8 hour trip in the future.

I plan on purchasing more vehicles with them and I might just be hungry or hangry!

Same - Final prep was 5/11 and I'm a week away from getting on a flight up there so I need that call. I know they're swamped and I'm sure everyone prefers to pick up in the days adjoining memorial day weekend.
I got the call today to finish up purchase agreement ,10 am… I was excited to get it to my bank and finish the process, buy a plane ticket and be there Friday…. But no email was ever sent to me… so nothing to give my bank , & not buying a plane ticket before that …. I feel 6 hours should have been more than enough time , but what do I know …. At 4;30 I called to see if there was an issue w my info , etc, but was sent to voicemail …. So just wait and see I guess….

I drove back.

Flew in Thursday, picked up
Spent the night in Lincoln, NE
Drove to Salt Lake, spent the night
Drove to Sacramento for my kids event (Dead tired)

If I were to do a solo drive again, I would try to get to Kearney, NE on the first day. Lincoln to Salt Lake was a looong day.
I drive from WI to grand junction Colorado every summer to visit family… Kearney is a good spot … Nebraska sucks to drive across in general. Boring ….

Got at F150 Tremor from them last October since my DD was dying. Granger provides a transit tag. Once you have the title (?) you can register at DMV. At that point you your local state and county taxes.

Heads up if you are in CA: you will need to weigh your vehicle and do a smog check. Generally, these are both done/provided by your dealership directly to the DMV. Both are needed before the DMV does the inspection that is mostly CARB based. From what the DMV person said, despite most vehicles being 50 state compliant, that is not always the case. Also, be prepared to pay with a check, otherwise the credit card fees are tacked on to the taxes.

As a side note, I had surprisingly nice interactions with the DMV. Due to the different steps required, I had to go in/out of the DMV 3 times in the same day. Despite that, doing the weigh station, and getting a smog check done, the whole process was only 4 hours. This time I will get the weight cert and smog done before I go in and should be done in a straight shot.
Why the weighing? I could maybe see it for a truck but an SUV is registered just like a car and there' s no weight fee like trucks. Even if a truck they go by the GVW and not the actual weight for the weight fee. Paid that stupid fee for years on my Dodge Ram 2500. Seems like you might have had a DMV worker that was misguided but that's not surprising based on my DMV adventures.

I found this online:
For commercial Vehicles (including pick-up trucks and cargo vans)
-A weight certificate. Only if your vehicle is a pick-up, truck, or will be registered as a commercial vehicle: commercial/cargo van, etc.

Don’t know why they wanted the exact weight of the vehicle, but they were consistent. Person at check in asked if I had the weight cert, person at counter said I needed it, and person doing the vehicle inspection took it. Person at the scale asked if I was registering an out of stat

I had a great conversation with Finance today. Appointment for pickup is all set.

My advice: best way to contact is send an email to [email protected] and they will call you ASAP. Don’t bother calling, they are absolutely swamped right now.
