Broncbuster has been hinting at a whole housing upgrade. I am curious to see the testing.

Is all I get is a haha? I would recommend to him is lean how to wheel correctly on rock. Do not use the gas peddle only, bring up the rpm's to 1,200 or more depending on the situation, all the while holding the break peddle firmly, maintain rpm's, use the break peddle to modulate the forward movement. The benefit is as one release the break peddle there is no jerky forward movement and with the breaks holding it will help keep the wheels from spinning. I not a newbie 61 years old. check my profile and see my threads. All the best E.
I can send you a Candygram.

Broncbuster also drives a manual.

If he charges over 300 for one delrin bushing and 1200 for a part of a housing, and 400 dollars for braces, I can't fathom that his version of an entire rack will be any cheaper (or stronger) than the 74weld rack that is already available for 5k.

It will probably be close at this rate.

If they could figure out how to improve their manufacturing processes enough to bring the total price on a complete rack solution down to the $2500-$3000 range they’d probably be able to retire on the sales of that alone.

One can only hope. It is supposed to be a new housing and the OEM rack, pinion, motor, and other necessary parts be reused. I am watching for sure.

74Weld sticks their stuff on race cars to test it out. They also have the proven track record of their super tough portals. I can't even find a price on their web page but I think there was a post on these forums somewhere.

Broncbuster beat the crap out of his stuff running 40s and hard trails to test out his stuff. He also has his colleagues test it out doing stuff I will probably not do in my Bronco. If he comes in at half the price of 74Weld by swapping some of the OEM internals, he has a chance at making some great sales to the amateur and enthusiast crowd.

RC will sit back and let others do the work and make copies which is smart. But they also don't show any test data or even post any videos that I can find in regards to longevity or reliability. I have a hard time putting something like that in a critical location. I'm not an engineer but you have to at least show me your stuff works no matter who you are. I would rather run nothing then trust that their plastic bushing would not cause other issues.

I'm pretty lazy. I like to sit back and wait for something to really happen before I spend my money on this stuff. This all reminds me of people having issues with the front axle housings on Wrangler JKs cracking. Meanwhile I've been wheeling the same JK, sometimes on some pretty rough stuff, for 11 years and never having an issue and never having sleeved or gussetted the housing. I just accepted the fact that if it were to break, I would replace it with something better.

My intent here is not to piss people off or even to get pissed off at someone I've never met on an Internet forum. I also will not apologize if I have pissed anyone off with a HAHA reaction or humorless response. My intent is to provide some explanation or an alternative point of view as to why I think someone would charge a certain price for a product, post some videos or information I have found on these subjects or products, and make the occasional joke when someone gets mad for what I can see as no real reason to get mad. I too get easily upset but can laugh at myself when someone points out that there is no real reason to get mad.

I tend to agree with you as i also like to sit back and watch the situation unfold and buy once vs try to be first to the game and solve a problem I likely don’t have.
That said although I’d never trust RC to make an entire steering rack or rods that won’t kill me. Those little bushings have been proven (on this forum and others) to be basically identical in function. Huge difference between a delrin sleeve vs a steering rack in my book.. one failing has entirely different consequences than the other. I installed the bushings on my 2.0 rack just for some extra piece of mind while I sit back and wait for a real solution at a realistic price point from a company who I would trust my family with. Spoiler alert that wont Be RC but might not be BB either. Time will tell I guess.. I think patience will see a lot more options soon enough.
Side note - I love the back and forth as iron sharpens iron for sure. I would ask however that all parties avoid the odd name calling, etc as this thread has too much good info to risk getting shut down for childish behavior. Not pointing any fingers just offering a reminder
