Squeegee Soft Top after washing. Good or bad idea?

I’m new to soft tops/convertibles. Is it a good idea or bad idea to squeegee the top after washing? Water pools up in places if I don’t. Will this damage the top long term?

It is made to be outside and get wet. Less is more.

I use a leaf blower to get rid of the excess water.
