The RTR Front Bumper Light Mount Kit with (2) PROJECT X HP.70 Lights are now available for the Bronco Raptor!

This kit includes (2) powder-coated light brackets that mount directly to your factory BRaptor front bumper and (2) PROJECT X HP.70 Lights. These lights have an output rating of 15,000 raw lumens. They feature PROJECT X's signature running light design that you can see below.

Also included with this kit is a wiring harness that allows you to seamlessly wire up these lights to your AUX Switch panel. If you already have the RTR Lightbar with PROJECT X FF.70 lights, these pair perfectly with that setup.

I just got finished installing this kit a few minutes ago and wanted to give some honest feedback.

I’ve installed quite a few lights on vehicles over the years and I gotta say, the instructions and wiring harness that come with this kit are the absolute BEST I’ve ever used. Well done RTR and thanks! Took me an hour from start to finish.

This is the first pair of Project X lights I’ve ever seen or used, but they are really well built and are quite a bit brighter than I expected. The adjustment knobs are awesome and make aiming the light a breeze.

The bracket is very well made with a really nice textured powder coat finish. Everything fit perfectly and was very easy to install. However, there’s a problem with the mounting location on the Raptor’s bumper that’s likely going to make me take them off.

Since the bracket uses the accessory mounting bolts on the bumper and the lights don’t have side to side adjustments, they’re permanently aimed way out in the ditches instead of straight down range where spotlights typically aim. Bummer.

If @RTR Vehicles happens to design a bracket that adds 2 more HP.70’s in the center (without drilling holes in the bumper), I’ll be the first person in line to get one! Until then, it looks like these will go on the shelf and get replaced by a couple of Baja LP6’s like I installed on our other Bronco. To be fair, I had to reverse and modify the Baja bracket to fit on the bumper without touching the grille, so it wasn’t an easy or simple install.

I’m not knocking RTR at all and this really IS a quality kit, I think it’s just the wrong application for me due to the limitations of the mounting points on the bumper.

The light output is great, but because of the way they’re mounted on the bumper, they’re ditch lights, not long-range spots. I thought I was buying spots.-

Here are the HP.70’s in the RTR bracket with a line drawn to show where they’re aimed. Notice the void in the center of the road where spotlights would normally point. It’s MUCH more pronounced in person.

So after partially disassembling the lights in the daylight and looking at the possibilities, I think the solution for my needs is a fairly simple one. if I loosen the inside bolts on the top and front of the mount and remove the outside bolts, there’s enough material to machine a slot in the outside bolt hole to allow for horizontal adjustment.

This will require the use of a spacer between the bracket and the bumper and probably require a longer bolt, but it’s really a pretty simple mod.

Update: was able to drill a single hole in each mount and now they’re aimed right down the centerline. These things are BRIGHT! Loving them so far.

@RTR Vehicles , I really like that light set up with your bracket. I am thinking about going this route. I have a question though, would you be able to modify the brackets just a little so I could use them? The inter fasten on each side just above the recover point for shakes, I would nee the whole an oval like it is, but large enough to go over the fastener. I have after make recovery point that hold my winch mounting plate. I can not unscrew them.

For me to unscrew them, I would have to remove my winch, the mounting plate and then the bump. Bumper has to be removed as the recovery point is what holds the bumper on.

I have attached a picture of my winch set up and also the whole I need big enough and oval to go over fastener. Thank you.

@FLSTFI Dave if I understand from your pics, you need that inner bracket front hole to be enlarged so it goes over the bronco bolt you cant get to and just utilize the remanding 3 bolts to hold the bracket? If that is the case, that is an easy mod I dont think it needs to be oval just enlarged for the bolt head which are not that big. You can use a step drill bit for this.
