This guy did a great job in this video so I'm sharing if anyone else wants to do it. Very easy. I went with different speakers Kickers and they fit perfectly. Took me like 45 min to change out all 4 speakers and you can use the Forscan app too to unlock more power for the rear speakers as per his video. But I went in and changed the ACM 727-01-01 to "3801" vs the 3800 as per below. 3801 unlocks the base for the back speakers. Albeit shitty compared to a sound bar but much better than factory speakers!

That config isn't quite right. You want to change 727-01-02, not 727-01-01. Also, that Forscan change just removes the EQ for the rear pods. Which is fine if you are just swapping in another set of 4" speakers.

But if you want to send full range to the rear pods (ie. you are swapping in larger speakers or a sound bar) you'll want to also change the speaker configuration.

I got all of the details in the Forscan post here.

I have the B&O and this weekend I'm replacing the 6.5's in the kick panel and installing the mabett pods in the back with (4) JL C1-650's.
Question is are JL 6.5's in the rear pods going to sound terrible if you don't do the Forscan change?
Some peopl post the B&O doesnt need the change and others say it does.
Appreciate the help.
Neither of those appear to be 4" speakers?

I might have to do this for the sad stock speakers this summer.

My concern, when I worked in the early 2000's as a car stereo installer, that the dash would rattle based on how new cars are assembled. 🤷

No rattle with the front speakers b/c it's tight fit but I did wrap a little sponge around the base blocker to keep it from knocking around at all. It was very easy and just like the video. At low levels the speakers sound alike from stock but when you turn turn them up it's much better. Still want a back soundbar though:)

Thanks will review again! Now you got me wondering if forscan changed worked or not:) I only put the new 4 inch speakers in the back and pretty sure I get base when I slide the EQ up. not sure why Ford made this part so complicated!

Two questions:

1. Are the Base blockerneeded?

2. Will there be an improvement if I just want to do install new speakers without doing the Forscan program if?

I just want to plug and play the existing crappy paper speakers.

1. I researched the Base Blockers before I did it. Answer is no, but if you pump up the base you prob want them as it prevents that annoying distortion. Prob worth doing it as it only takes a few more minutes and costs like $5

2. Yes there will be an improvement. I found they are much clearer especially when volume is over 12 or so. I did it b/c when I have the top off and windows down I want to crank it up

3. The forscan change doesn't do much b/c it's not like a booming sound bar with sub so if you just change the speakers still prob worth it if you like to crank it a bit

IMHO for $100 it's worth it and very easy to change out. watch that video. Also buy some butt connectors, you don't need the other female ends bc the Kicker speakers come with wires done for speaker connection.

Net- very easy, and better sound for $100

Thank you. When you get a chance can you please paste the Amazon link where you purchased everything. I would like to get kickers as well.

Also, have you tried to replace the 6 inch speakers and the center channel one?

Thanks. At a bar watching the basketball games so I didn’t watch the video yet. How many base blockers do I need to order? Four or just the two for the front?

Also, what connectors are you using?

lol same re basketball. 2 base blockers only for the front 2 in dash. Don't need them for the back. you will need butt connectors for each speaker x2 so get like 10+

I swapped out the dash and kick panel speakers with Kicker CS, I swapped out the rear pods with SSV 6.5 inch pods, also kicker CS. Everything sounded much better, but the rears sucked. I did the Forscan mod and it made them slightly louder. Still not happy bought kicker key 200.4 and a plug and play harness. All was great, but the rear speakers were muffled and sounded like crap. Used Forscan and put it back to the original configuration, and it's sounds so much better. The bass is not as good as the front, but you can hear them, and they sound clean.

I am finally really happy with the sound, was going to add a sub, but don't think I even need it now.
