After more than year and a half running on stock, she’s been upgraded.

I love all things vintage, so that’s the look I’ve envisioned since placing my order July 13.

Super happy with how it turned out!

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I am praying to you Tire Gods to please help me out!

I picked up my 2023 non sas Outer Banks last week and it's scheduled next week for a lift and new tires. I have never modified a vehicle and I know nothing about tires. I feel like I got a different answer from each of the places I went to discuss options.

My current order for next week is a 2" lift (ReadyLIFT) and 295/70R18 BFGoodrich KM3 tires.

I like the stock wheels, so I am keeping them. To be honest, I am going more for looks than performance (I know! Feel free to kill me with the eye rolls!). The only action she will see is driving up the mountain during ski season or at the family ranch, which is covered in sand.

Since this is primarily my everyday driver, I want to maintain the smooth, quite ride like factory tires, but get the beefier look I was going for. I really don't like how small the factory tires look in the wheel well and prefer a fuller look.

So, here are my questions...

Did I choose the wrong tire and lift?

I originally hoped to put 35's with the 2" lift, but everyone did say the only 35's that would fit on the factory wheels are the Nitto Trail Grappler, and no one really recommended them. Are these not a good fit for my purposes?

Is a 2" lift too much for 295/70R18 tires to get the fuller look of the wheel well? Should I do 1.5" instead?

Should I do a 285/75R18 with a 2" lift instead? (I looked at the Nitto Recon Grappler and Ridge Grappler in this size)

What are the tires, lifts, etc. that ya'll would recommend for the look/performance I'm going for?

Please Tire Gods, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts/advise/suggestions before I wind up with a very expensive ride I don't enjoy driving!
KO2s (all terrain) will run a lot quieter and last longer than KO3s (muds). For the use you describe no need to put on muds.

Thanks for the response.

I checked out those Michelin tires you mentioned, but to be honest I really hate the look of them.

I originally wanted the BFG KO2's, but no one seemed to be able to get them.

One place suggested a Cooper tire, but his coworker said I would hate them and the BFG KM3's would be a much smoother ride.

I honestly don't expect any of the bigger tire options to ride as well as OE's, I just don't want the difference to be so severe that it's not fun to drive.

I'm probably just being overly worried because I gave up the smoothest ride I've ever had with my Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I just never enjoyed the look and low profile of it.

Would you mind giving me a few options you would recommend?
You hit the nail on the head, moving up in size and to a different category is going to come with tradeoffs over OE. This is why it's important to prioritize the performance attributes you want the tires to deliver most. As a high level example, moving from a highway style tread design to an All Terrain one can expect an increase in noise - the more aggressive the tread pattern (void ratio) the louder the tire.

Falken, Yokohama, and Toyo are a few popular brands that offer A/T tires that work out well for many. I would suggest a semi aggressive A/T, something like the Geolandar A/T G015 sounds like a good option for you.

To touch on the KO2, yes, this model is on backorder until late March, early April in the 295/70R-18 size.

Got fifteen52 Traverse HD in bronze with black ring, 17x8.5 0 offset wrapped with BFG KO2 285/70R17 installed on my 23 Velocity Blue OBX. No lift (yet). Thank you @fifteen52 for your help and @Discount Tire !!!

It was our pleasure - your rig looks great

Thank you for your business!

like them, road noise is no more than stock Generals. Ride was a little stiff at first, tire shop put in 43lbs pressure, dropped it down to 37 and it’s better.

would definitely recommend them.
Glad the pressure adjustment helped! Thank you for the feedback.

Absolutely love the color combinations here! Nicely Done!

The KO3's haven't even been released yet . . . and I can't expect they'd be mud's either.

I'm sure it was just a typo by @FatRat250. He was replying to @BoomSoonG who mentioned ordering the KM3's.

You're right, though. If the KO3's are ever released, they definitely won't be muds, but I bet they'll do pretty well in it. I'm on my 8th set of KO2's and have been impressed with their mud performance compared to the KO's. Those things would get stuck on wet grass!😄

Damn QWOMTY keyboards, why do they still sell those? :ROFLMAO:

I would welcome KO3's if/when they become available; if the KO2->3 step-up is even half what the KO->2 was that would be something. At the rate my BL build date keeps getting pushed back maybe their availability timelines will intersect, LOL.

I intend to drive the rubber off the stock KO2's and hope the 3's are out when it's time to retread - and by then I'll also know if I'm sticking with 33's or moving to something else.
