I thought the same when I read through that section of the WSM — it seems like every driveline bolt that’s removed is replaced, but a lot of them are lower torque specs like 35 lb. ft.
I wonder if it has to do with pre applied threadlocker.

Yeah, probably. Good point! I always thought it was goofy for those FoMoCo bolts to arrive with dried out permatex on them instead of just reapplying it from a tube

I’m going to talk to the service manager.
Take this with you; it’s the full print out of the TSB — note the first five lines of parts are all single use bolts

Had mine in at the dealer today to check on the noise. After a roughly 30 min drive with 2/3 of it highway, when I got into the dealership parking lot I could still hear the noise in 1st driving slowly around.

I gave them the TSB number, and they said they had to wait for a few hours for it to cool down as the TSB says it has to be below 50°F. But they did confirm that they heard the issue and they are ordering parts. They have no idea when they will come in, so they'll just call me.

Mine is back in, dealership confirmed they heard the noise again even after replacing transmission.

Parts on order for TSB to be performed. Likely won't have it back for a couple weeks.

Dropped mine off tonight so it could soak overnight. Not even sure what that really means... :) It's being left outside to assure that it'll be < 50 degrees (should be around 40 degrees at 9am).

Have most people just been driving their Bronco back home while waiting for parts to come in for the TSB? Thought I saw at least 1 person getting a loaner vehicle.

I’ve been driving mine, as my service advisor told me to do. I brought it in for a front diff leak as well as the transmission TSB so they’re waiting on parts for both jobs. I expect a loaner for the days they’re actively working on both fixes.

My service advisor told me I had to leave mine at the dealer to be scheduled. He couldn’t schedule it for repairs unless it was at the dealer. It’s been 14 days sitting in the parking lot. Ford app showed it went into “deep sleep” mode today to conserve battery.
He did answer an email and said parts have been ordered but no reply when asked about an ETA or if I can pick up my vehicle until the parts arrive.

No loaner offered.

You should absolutely be demanding a loaner, or go to another dealership that will offer you one. My truck is getting serviced at a different local dealer from the one I bought it from, because I’ve had bad experiences one after the other at the purchasing dealership.

My dealer said they sold all the loaners and hadn’t replaced them yet.

Sounds like their problem, and they should be going to Enterprise for you 😅 my old dealership would ONLY lend out loaners from rental car agencies.

Was finally able to record the noise from outside the vehicle — currently 52F here, so not as loud as when it’s below freezing.

Dropped mine off tonight for an appointment tomorrow. We’ll see what they say but literally wrote the bulletin number on the form. I expect them to actually do it and not change the transmission.

Mine is in the dealer now. They weren't accepting appointments so I just dropped it and said work me in when you can. There were a handful of other issues I needed taken care of, so I as prepared for a wait. Took a few days to look at it which I didn't think was bad.

They verified that the TSB applies, but that parts were on backorder for an unknown amount of time. They pushed Ford for a full transmission, and got that approval after another week or so. I should have it back in another week. If that holds, it will be three total weeks at the dealer.

I'm not mad about it. Things happen, nothing is going to be perfect. At least it's documented to my VIN now as an issue if it (when it) happens again (and again, based on reports in this thread).

Got news on mine today. Brought bronco in for TSB a few days ago. Dealership wants to replace my transmission again because they too are not super confident in the TSB, nor am I. I’m okay with it though as this keeps the transmission from being opened. Will probably top it off though with more fluid just to see. Maybe the new transmission will be okay. (This will be my 3rd transmission. 3rd times a charm right??). And if it’s not, we will go from there and potentially try the TSB. I just want it fixed. Hoping that Ford sends a transmission with good synchros now that the problem is well known. Will keep everyone updated.
Wait you’re on a second or third transmission yet you don’t want them to open it up and fix it?
