I have a July 14th 2020 reservation for a two-door badlands, modular bumper, 7 speed, brush guard, tow. No interior package no Sasquatch package.
On December 14th of 2022 I decided Ford wasn't going to build my order. I went on Facebook Marketplace and searched for manual transmission bronco. I found an exact clone of my order in St Louis except for it had the high package and the Sasquatch package. Same. Color etc. I live in Southern Illinois about 25 miles from St Louis. It was a brand new abandoned order. I drove over there the next day and bought it. They originally had it at $10,000 over MSRP but marked that down to $3,000 over. They dropped the price to $2000 over MSRP and I just got a check from them in the mail for $171. So I guess $1829 over MSRP. I guess I was being cheap and didn't want to pay for the 35-in tires or the 12-in screen but wow I'm glad I have them now! And now my order actually got scheduled for production a few days ago. It says the week of March 6th. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet.

Good for you, glad it works for some. It doesn't work for everyone. Timing is a real thing, so a person needs to just keep swinging and checking around. I'll check into FB Marketplace to see what I can find on there as well.

I feel like switching from a two-door to a four door is a hard sell. It's a totally different vehicle in my opinion. I got my two-door exactly one month ago, and a four-door was not an option for me whatsoever. It's kind of like we can't build your two door but how about a Ford Focus instead. Wtf. Lol.

The Bestop 2 door fastback isn't horrible to my eye but I strongly prefer the MIC look. But if it comes down to the Bestop or nothing/losing PP and order getting cancelled, I would take the Bestop. Hopefully there would be an additional cost savings that could go toward a hardtop in a couple years.

with that being said. Am I willing to let my order ride for the hard Top and risk losing price protection if my order doesn’t get built?

also, what will an after market hard top look like, can you add one, how much will it cost. I’m seeing $5500 hard tops for the 4 doors now. That’s a boatload of money for a hard top. My Jeep hard top was only $2800. $2500 is what ford is offering. It’s a lot to think about.

Well, Ford states they consider hardtop a "constraint", and since a 2-door only has a hardtop, yes effectively they are saying "good luck" getting a 2-door this year, and promoting a switch (as they already were doing) to a less loaded 4-door soft top. That's nothing new, it just now comes with a larger carrot and stick.

Below is the text of my email, where I requesting clarification about the 2-door situation, and the dealer response:

MY QUESTION TO DEALER: Given that 2-door Broncos are only available with the "constrained" hardtop, does this basically mean all 2-door customers must change to a 4-door, to qualify for this Ford offering?

DEALER RESPONSE: Correct. We will need to switch to a 4 door model to have a good chance for a 2023 model.

i appreciate your post. You can still let the order ride though, you just have more of a chance for a soft top 4 door build getting to you quicker

Agreed. My thinking (if we get to have 2dr softies) is I can ride with the soft top for a couple years and use the $2500 plus save to get a 2dr hard top down the road at some point (2-3 years). I can scratch the itch and then get the top I want after saving up for one.

Yep. Today, I searched websites of dealers across much of Illinois, eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin. I found 2 that were in the ballpark, but not close to MSRP. I didn't call, because frankly, I want to see how the current situation plays out before making phone calls. I'll search Indiana and Michigan tomorrow. I don't see that going any better than today. Hahaha

Seems like dealers in the Detroit area have some at MSRP and even discounted for the A plan. Given its Ford’s home office with many employees, makes some sense. Every thing else within 500 miles of Madison are not very close to MSRP. But most are not huge dealers so there is that.

I have a garage and plan to ride top off/doors off a good 6-8 months of the year here in CA so can easily live with the mediocre soft top for a couple years. But no chance I switch to a 4 door, I have zero interest there so if that's the only option, I bail.

I dont know of any in the entire SE that have less than 10k markup. Oh, well hold on, there is a place in FL that charges 6,900 for nitrogen in the tires. That seems insulting but i guess its better than 10k.
Maybe the board should keep a Nice list along with the naughty list, lol.

I hesitate to reccomend this, but anyone who wants to try Option 2 might want to try TrueCar. I'd just reccomend setting up a dummy email account and possibly using a prepaid simcard in your phone with a new number.

Pros: I had every sales manager in the region calling/emailing me directly and giving me competitive offers for Broncos. It was a quick and easy way to send one dealer another dealers lower ADM to drop the price.

Cons: my email and phone number are now definitely on multiple spam lists and it took about two weeks after buying rhe car to get dealers to stop calling me. (Hence the new email and simcard)

Looks like to me if you want a Bronco, choice #1 is the only choice you have... unless you wait a few years. Translations: They are not going to produce Wildtraks. They are not going to produce MIC's. They are not going to produce SAS packages. LUX 'outa luck'. Choice #4... you walk away from your order. Choice #3... Ford WILL walk away from you. Choice #2... Walk away from your Bronco and get $2500 off something else. The heritage lines I'd bet will not be done until this mess gets fixed so if you are holding out for one you will be in a different sinking boat in a few months.

I think this is more like standing in line at the airport for an overbooked flight. The vouchers start and the inexperienced people jump up not realizing what they may be committed to. Ford has clearly overbooked the MY23 before banks even opened. They are trying to Get people to take the voucher. If you take an airline voucher, good luck sleeping in D Terminal and not having access to the sky lounge. No thanks.

Option5 should have read. Elect to move to a MY24 BRaptor for MSRP. Just sayin.

Id personally take from stock without 10k adm and with 2021 pricing & the $2500. Great deal there.

…. good luck finding a dealer who will sell you a stock without the adm, nor do I think price protection would transfer to that stock order …
