I'm not going to debate this point since it's been flogged to death and only turns into a pissing contest but this is apparently due to the specific suppliers, or supplier further up the line, unable to deliver product to Ford. Not Ford being unable to build the vehicle or components they're directly responsible for producing that go into the vehicle. While they can write contracts with suppliers to compel them to deliver on, there's too many moving parts when it comes to multi-tiered, global supply that are controllable.

If this is true, it’s the most catastrophic supply chain and production meltdown in the history of new vehicle rollouts. How could any company have multiple vendor failures, simultaneously, while other companies (Tesla) are cutting production to keep demand high?

Well, they are at fault for not communicating and lack of transparency sooner but not much they can do about supply. They can and should change the WBDO to limit the options so it's not possible to oversell when orders open back up.

Right. We run into it a lot with general customers believing "we" are Ford Motor Company instead of an independent seller of their products. We're at Ford's mercies and problems like customers we sell, service and supply with parts. I understand why some have that perception and hard to explain when people are frustrated with an issue created by Ford and don't understand why we can't do anything about it.

But to your point, both the good and that happens at the dealer or corporate level, reflects on the other and why many see us as one.

Here’s my tin foil hat take and mashing this all together. Ford will incentivize people to drop constrained items. If they don’t, they wait longer. If they don’t get built during 23, they lose price protection. They want to get through the backlog so they can take new orders at a higher price.

I think this all got wrapped up into a dramatic statement that unless you drop the constraints, you definitely WON’T get built. To me- that’s the key statement because everything else was probably already true- there are constraints, ford wants to build new orders are higher price and they are going to limit price protection length.

The new twist is any incentive they are going to offer to get people to switch trims/ options.

On the Flex

It's a great vehicle and will take care of about 95% of most Bronco owners needs. . 200k and going strong, even has the 3.5 turbo everyone wanted.

Also ugly as sin. Not to mention has not been made since 2019.

We had the 3.5 ecoboost version many years ago. It had a unique look but that thing was a sleeper and a great road/trip vehicle. Its death is a testament to a styling miss for many Americans and anemic marketing by Ford for a very useful vehicle. The Flex might become that odd collectible that gets "retro-modded" in the next decade. E.G. - Nomad wagon.

I think we are missing one important fact. Ford has created an incredible product that no one else in the market has created. You could argue that Jeep has a product BUT there is a whole new debate.

EVERYONE and their mother wants a Bronco. If Ford could produce 1 million Broncos tomorrow then they would as they could sell them.

until then everyone who wants one will have to be patient OR buy a Wrangler.
