Mabett V3 Tailgate Table Installation/Review/Thoughts

I installed my @Mabett V3 "Transformer" version of their Tailgate Table today. Photos below.

Initial observations:
-There was some loose hardware in the box that had fallen off of the table, but I'm thankful it was still in the box and hadn't fallen out. Not a huge deal, just had to reinstall and check the rest to make sure they were snug. Aside from that, the packaging was pretty solid.

-Installing the table using their YouTube tutorial is pretty straight forward, but was a b*tch to do with one person. Trying to hold the table up and align it while threading im the screws wasn't easy. A paper template would have been nice to help align where the hardware needs to go. Would've save me from having to mock ot up 15 times to get the mounting hardware figured out.

-As far as functionality, I really like the design of the table with two levels, a slide-out, and the ability to hang stuff from it while its closed. It seems solidly built and functions nicely. I haven't driven the truck yet to see if it rattles, but will report back!

Do your clasps keep it shut?
mine opens after I shut the tailgate. They supposedly sent me new clasp hardware but that was almost three weeks ago at this point.

I just installed it last night and only closed the tailgate once when I was done, vut the clasps seem pretty sturdy. I will update the thread after a week or so of driving with it and opening/closing the tailgate!

It was $299. It looks like they are out of stock now. I think there were only 3 left when I bought it.

@Mabett - any word on when these will be available again?

Word is that @Mabett has stopped selling them because there are other folks with the same design under cutting the price.

I will add to your thread. I bought the cutting board version. The claps are absolute, unmitigated garbage. I'm so angry about spending an hour installing this thing and having to reach out to Jason for replacement parts that I'm just sending it back. It's an embarrassment that this made it through whatever QC process they have. Additionally, my table supports are not cables, they are flimsy arms, and they rattle around, so now I have a constant noise at the back of my truck.

The metal parts are beautifully cut and powder coated. But the instructions are a set of low-res pictures, printed on a single side of piece of paper. I had two "Van Life" interior installers helping me and they were equally flummoxed about which washers went with which bolts as the pictures are too shitty to make out any detail.

There's a link to a video at the bottom on my OneDrive. Tried to upload it here but it must be too large or something. I show the clasps and also the bit of foam packaging I had to stuff inside to keep the clasps shut.

I waited a while to get a tailgate table and hoped this one would be good. It's not. Personally, this isn't worth it at any price, because it rattles all the time and opens every time you go over a speed bump, at any speed.

There is an obvious difference between the one I bought from Mabett and the one described by Darcyjs14; they don't even look the same. I paid 229 for mine. I'm happy with what I received, but it looks like the Maxzina Fit 2021 2022 2023 Ford Bronco Tailgate Table Steel Rear Foldable Table Cargo Shelf Grid Plate for 2023 Ford Bronco Accessories 4 Door 2 Door(Table and Grid Plate) from Amazon looks like the one I bought from Mabett with some cosmetic differences. There isn't a pull-out cutting board. The Maxzina is also 169 as of this post.

I had some quality issues with the mudflaps from Mabett.

I bought the V3 table with two levels and the integrated molle grid. It's now out of stock and I haven't seen anyone else posting about it. I'm happy with the build quality on this specific version.

I picked up the transformer table for my friend Peter who’s coming down from Canada to pick it up.

the cutting board table, the version i have, seems to be the only Mabett table with the two part metal supports vs a cable support for the table. Those metal supports are one of the two fail points. The other, the clasps, are also different than the transformer table, with the transformer table’s setup looking much sturdier.

the transformer table, which has disappeared from Amazon, looks promising. The tailgate table? I’m waiting for someone else to show up not frustrated with it.

i never got a reply from Jason regarding replacing the clasps so I sent the table back. Looking for options again.

I read reviews of the mabbett one with pull out cutting board and saw a few with constant rattles. Which is why I held off. I would rather have a small table to take than listen to rattles.

No rattles yet. The latches seem to secure it pretty well.

I saw a really nice table today, with a cutting board. And 1.5x the cost of the Mabett table. I’m going to go with that one, as having looked it at, and having installed the Mabett, i can see the quality difference. The amount of time i wasted on the Mabett easily justifies the premium for a no-compromise table. G
