Where is my Bronco?! How to track order, delivery, info thread [updated December 9, 2022]

I reserved my Bronco august 10,2020. It’s been 851 days and still counting. Long ass wait if not probably the longest. Can anyone beat this?

Yes, 870 days for me, and still counting.

Great write up, thank you! I have one of the dealers that must not have Vinview so that makes tracking a bit difficult. Does anyone know if we as the public have access to Vinview? I can definitely go to their website and sign up to try the software but I haven’t actually done it and wasn’t sure if anyone has?

Prior to VINVIEW, the dealer had, and still has, a system they log on to. VINVIEW just added real time notifications, while Ford backend system requires them to manually look. They can still track, see rail car info, inquire, see updates and ETAs on their end.

Access to VINVIEW can be added for you only by your dealer. They add your text capable cell phone to system. You will receive notification that they subscribed you, and receive the same text updates they will.

Question on the "manage" vs "details" reservation pages.
On the manage page, it states "Accepted by dealer" on the order status section.
On the details page, it states "In progress" on the "place order" section.
Is there any difference in actual progress between the two pages, or is just 2 versions of the same page, for whatever reason that would be?

I kinda feel like my dealer is jerking me around, but that's likely just because they never contact me about anything. I had to ask them about reordering, they didn't have a clue, or at least played that way. Nonexistent communication.

Just like many of us, I have found many different ways to find where my Bronco was in the process, what the status was at any given time, and what the hell is going on with lost shipments, time delays and unspecified delays.

Does anybody know if your car may switch rail companies if they dont come to your state? My dealer gave me the rail car number with CSX and when I call, it tells me where it is currently and it will be delivered to Chicago in a couple days. Im in California. It didn't give the final destination.

Switches a few times
This is normal, same car, same tracking, just logistics.

Ok so my car arrived in Chicago a day early and was transferred over to Union Pacific leaving tomorrow. Anybody have experience tracing with UP when you call? Maybe im being too eager to let them update the system lol! I have the train I.D. though

Still usually tracked through CSX as you have been.

That's the thing. Once it arrived in Chicago, it said there is no further information on the next arrival but when it was in Ohio, it gave me the next location

You are switching at Chicago-
This can take a couple, to a few days. The way it works, is your group of cars that are going to union pacific are sitting in the railyard for the train to come by and pick it up. There are times that the intended train does not pick you up and Chicago clearing, through CSX, will have to move your load until the next train comes. Therefore, sometimes it takes a few days to pick back up again. Keep checking and you will see movement from Chicago- I am sure.

I don’t know
Something is better than nothing. They could be doing the same wait, BS, without it, and we’d be no better off. So why not get some freebies out of it?
