Doesn't Texas require a front license, by law?
Yes. Some people risk it and don't do it. Play with the police at your own risk. It's like a $250 ticket iirc.

If you actually get a ticket for it, its easy to get dismissed. All you have to do is tape the plate to the front of the vehicle, take a pic and show in court. Dismissed. And the ticket isn't $250. Usually less than $100 but, like I said, I've been all over Texas and only stopped once for no plate, and that was YEARS ago. Also, if you keep the plate in your glovebox and put it on in front of the cop (keep something to secure it to the vehicle while the cop is around), they'll usually let you go. And on cars like my Vipers or Lambo, you can say it affects airflow and will not secure properly. Either way, there are ways around it. This will be my only vehicle I run a plate on; if I actually put one on the front. But in any event, I'd like to know my options, so hints the thread.

However, all of that said, like you mentioned, do all of this at your own risk. I usually tend to follow rules but, a front plate looks hideous most of the time.

No pic, but I use a sto-n-sho holder. Had one on my Mustang, and it works the same on the Bronco. Mounts to the center bolt on the bottom of the bumper. Can get some pics later if you're interested. I generally leave it off, but it has to be on for inspections, etc. so I usually have it in the back with my other gear in case I get pulled over, which has yet to happen in VA (also require a front plate).

I say "at your own risk"...I was pulled over once, for nothing other than lack of a front plate on a Charger...he gave me a warning. I hate the appearance of a front plate and have lived in many states that don't require them. Then again, Texas also says that a license plate frame that blocks the state and/or number is not legal...so there's that rofl

Exactly. It's a roll-the-dice game. I don't want to be pulled over but, front plates are so ugly. 🤣

Yes but, theyre not super strict about it. You have to be in the right place at the right time with a cop that is wanting to just pull you over for stupid reasons for it to be an issue. I've been pulled over once for it ever, and just got a warning.
👍

Mine is a LOT like this but I recently decided to go with a hidden winch skid plate with the factory bumper, so I can't put my plate low in the center any more. I have to move it right or left.

BTW the state of WA does require a front plate, but I forgot to put my plate on the front of my '17 mustang GT after a car show and meet up, and I haven't gotten a ticket yet. That was 2 years ago.
