When I first started lurking on these message boards in the Spring, there were build weeks from late 2021/early 2022 awaiting their vehicles. Most of those were stuck on "ice mountain" with a chip hold. This isn't the case here, but it did lead to the theory that cars were shipped on a first in/last out basis. In other words, they would place vehicles at the furthest spot possible from the entry point and then packed in the rest - moving closer to the entry point with each new vehicle awaiting shipment.
I floated this theory by my father-in-law, who spent his whole career with Ford in Dearborn (when he wasn't working for them overseas). He said he had been in those lots before and the theory didn't seem unreasonable. He said the vehicles were packed so tightly in the lot, he never knew how they could get them out of there.
While the theory may have some merit, it's certainly not a hard-and-fast rule. I've been watching all the build weeks before us going back to 7/25. People in all those build weeks have spent time awaiting shipment. Every week, more people get the notification they shipped, but it's sporadic across the build weeks. There are people in August build weeks complaining about September build weeks taking delivery just as there are people in our build week complaining about October build weeks taking delivery. There's no rhyme or reason to the order of the shipping. And, of course, there are two methods of delivery - convoy and rail - which adds more variables to shipping. (Though one of the last deliveries in the 8/1 build week was via convoy to Pittsburgh. They were just delivered on 11/4.)
We're up to 40/56 vehicles delivered. That denominator of 56 includes all who populated their sticker information and tear tag. I've pinged all the undelivered folks the last couple weeks. If they haven't been replying, I'll likely exclude them for the next count. In all likelihood, they've taken delivery but didn't let us know. (At least, I hope so!)
I noticed some people in earlier build weeks getting shipping emails/notifications this past week. Again, it's completely random among the build weeks. It does feel like no one in this week has gotten a shipped notification/email recently despite the fact we know people are sitting at MAP. In fact, looking at the spreadsheet, the most recent shipped email date for someone delivered by rail came one month ago today - 10/11. The most recent shipped notification of any kind came on 10/19. Combine this with only two deliveries in November and things have really slowed. I sincerely hope we see some movement next week for those who have yet to take delivery. As far as I can tell from the spreadsheet, every outstanding delivery is still at MAP.
