went and got my first oil change today...

1. they're replacing the caps on my side view mirrors. hopefully that fixes the whistling sound.
2. are you guys doing 5 tire rotation? they rotated my tires, and my bad for not bringing it up when I got there, but afterwards I asked if they did 5 tires, and he said no. Then he said he needs to check if the spare has a TPMS in it. I want to say yes... but for those of you that are way ahead of me in maintenance, can you confirm? If so, he said he'll do it when I bring it back to get the mirror caps swapped out.

Yes, spare has TPMS, yes I do a 5 tire rotation. Why keep the spare a spare? Just to look pretty? Hell no, factor that in and get an "extra" 10k miles or so out of your tires.

I've had, 3 oil changes so far, and each time I do a 5 tire rotation.

I figure next oil change I'll do myself along with a tire rotation. I read somewhere (maybe BN, or here), that you don't even need the TPMS too when you rotate. Supposedly the BRONCO figures it out when the wheels spin . Guess I'll see in another 3500 miles, but I'm not paying $180 again for an oil change and tire rotation, screw Flemington Ford on that bullshit!

funny you say that. That absolutely happened on one of our cars. the tires dry rotted before they wore completely down.

I mean, I work from home, and my wife doesn't work. So not a ton of driving around here.

My oil changes are free! but stupid PA and their yearly inspection money maker. But I usually just get my cars inspected an oil changed during my yearly visit.

Yep, change before was $110 for synthetic oil and tire rotation. Used Ford Pass points. Figured not too bad to be lazy. Then this last time, same shit done but $180. Fuck that.

Agreed - I paid in the same range at both Chapman in Egg Harbor and Medford Ford (scheduling and location). Both needed to be taught the 5 tire rotation (both said Ford service manual only called for 4 tire), but added that any time I came back to just please let them know b4 what I wanted, no extra charge.
