Freshly protected with PPF and ceramic coating, along with some ceramic tint.

Looks great.

November 8th I get my windows tinted with Llumar ceramic tint, and the front with one that is heat rejection. December 7th it goes in for a Full XPEL 10 mill wrap after paint correction.

Sad how far places are backed up. I used both these shops several times, usually a two to four day appointment after the call for tint and usually a week to a week and a half for PPF.

I didn’t go too dark, and did do all windows except the windshield. Given the factory tint on the rears, ended up being 40% front and 60% rear for a more consistent look. My shop uses Hüper Optik tint / film.

Just a Pro tip for everyone concerning tints.

SUVs and trucks and some minivans in the US will tint the rear windows from the factory at 20% (allows 20% of light to penetrate). The tint used is actually a dye in the glass. The dye only darkens the glass BUT does not stop UV and does not reject heat.

It is always best to also tint the rear glass when you are doing the fronts

15%-20% front will match the rears at 50% tint (with oem 20% tint).

Rear doors metered at 16% and rear shell metered at 30% I could tell they were different. So I tinted front doors 30%, rear doors 30%, and rear shell 20%. The rears match much better. Front doors are just dark enough for us.

Oh yeah it's good. I was introduced to it back in 2013 and very popular in the Lexus, Mecedes and BMW crowd. Back then it was fairly new, and a bit costly to install since it such a pain to install and not too many shops could install it. IIRC, they didn't have an automotive product and you had to use their a commercial or residential products and it required a very special technique for automotive application.

I tinted my F150 Raptor (2019 and 2021) rear glass which has the defroster and I did not experience this issue.
