Looks very clean, but I'd be concerned with heat being trapped under the cover.

I put the oem one on my 2.3L Ranger when I had it. Suppose to reduce engine noise, was a foam type material.

Oooo bacon.

But to answer the question, doesn't seem to be any functional advantage. Most engine covers are 75% looks, 25% sound deadening. These aluminum plates don't have any sound deadening material on the backside based on JCR's photos & instructions, so it's 100% looks.

Or maybe 90% looks, 10% skillet.

I don’t usually like engine covers because I like engines. But, these look great, well done!

Do they cut down on noise at all? We got one of the factory 2.3L engine covers to try it, but it doesn't cover the noisy direct injection fuel pump, so sent it back. This one covers it, but wonder if it decreases the noise.
