The Michigan bronco club had arranged a meet and greet plus tour at MRT performance headquarters in Plymouth Michigan.
I always like meeting the local store owners and crew, plus seeing the capabilities and professionalism of there team. Today I was not disappointed at all. Was actually nice to meet a great team of people specializing in low volume exhaust fabrication and install.
Mrt takes the quality and builds seriously. Very informative talk with the owner for design and execution. Everything is top notch 304 that is US made and certified. All coatings, hydro dip, powder coat, and creakote are done in house. No bs middle men. They offer these services to the public also, which is extremely convenient for my location. They also test products on actual vehicles and have a no bs return policy. If not happy, they will make it right.
They have purchased a years worth of material that is on hand to forgo the normal shortages. I had asked about lead times. Most anything not in stock can be fabbed up same day with materials on hand. Quality of product, welds, and fab was excellent. Warranty covers any defects to said products. Does not cover acts of god such as smashing or bending while wheeling. They are also capable of just making what ever piece you may have wrecked instead of purchasing a complete kit, which is nice. They also take pride in making real world gains and not just loud noises and that’s not max rpm gains. It’s the usable gains for torque on the low and mid ends. We got to see and hear the new trail system they have. Very nice sounding exhaust. Quiet on the idle side. Nice growl on the wot side. This is one of the quieter systems they make for the bronco.
They are also a certified aero dealer for their products. And are capable of 50% off for refills on the bottles.
I did order a aero kit, found 3 nice shirts, and ordered a JMS pedal max. I have no interest in a quicker response. Have plenty of extra ponies that handle that already. What did get my attention was the dial does 0-100. 0 being stock, 100 being max. The. 0- -100. Which allows you to dial back throttle response when you need some finesse. That sealed the deal for me on that product.
So I have no issues recommending this company for what ever you’re looking for, exhaust or coating wise. Seems like a solid company that puts the time into research and development on the engineering side. They pride them selves in a no drone exhaust system which they nailed on the one we got to demo today.
