HOW TO: Add Homelink garage remote from Lux Package

Did anyone install this on a MY22? I just picked up my wife's OBX and didn't realize this was only on the Lux Package. Seems like it should have come on the Mid and High packages we have.

I installed this on a 21 OBX w/high package. If you have lighted mirrors, this mod will work for you. You literally unplug the old visor, plug in the new one and program it to your opener

That is the smart thing to do and I just did the same today even though I have the lighted mirror. Doesn't seem to make sense to spend $300 plus vs $30 opener that does the exact same thing

Some would argue the same about adding extra exterior lighting or any other mod really. Personal preference I guess. I’d rather not have the remote hanging on my visor so, I spent the money.

For less than the cost of the new visor I upgraded my garage door opener to one with phone app access to open/close and a camera to monitor things.

I weighed my options too (also have the lighted mirrors for easy tie-in), but just couldn’t swallow the cost of the HomeLink visor. So I did the poor man’s visor clip remote control too. The better way to do the visor clip remote though is to flip it over so the remote is on the top and just the clip on the bottom. Much cleaner, less visible, and now you also have a clip for other random things (access key cards work great).

Trying to find this answer everywhere with no luck also. Also trying to see if the wires are tucked away for a powered rearview mirror.
