Forget all the HP & TQ stuff !!
I think the axle ratio change to 4.70 through software has to be the big news item !!!!!
;)
I have a WildTrak so I am already at 4.7 my biggest hope is that they addressed the lag from 0-15mph. Moving from a 2014 Taurus SHO to my 2022 WildTrak was a bit of a surprise and some what disappointing. I know I can't/shouldn't compare the two because they are two very different beasts but still.

Not sure what you mean here. The net gain is 25hp/18ft.lbs. That's it. No more. The numbers they gave for the tune are at 93 Octane, so if you are already running 93, that's what you get more (25/18). If you are running 87, you get about the same...probably a bit less. Either way, you can switch from 87 to 93 now and get more HP gain than this tune gives if you aren't already running 93. I garee every little bit, but for $700 this is insignificant and probably not very noticeable.
Hey not doubting you but I'd love to hear other opinions here. I've been running 93 since day one on my 2.3 OBX. Especially since I can't use my Ford points this is an expensive upgrade if I'm not getting a ton.

My dealer is a Ford Performance authorized one and just checked with them. He said these were added to the website earlier this morning but taken down 30 minutes later. According to the rep they were recalled. I was going to see about using Ford Pass points as a possible option since the Ford Performance coil overs are MIA. If you indeed have these in stock, folks should jump on them for sure.
I see them there now: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-B27

What I meant is that no, the gain is not less than you get from simply switching from 87 octane to 93. Switching from 87 to 93 gives you gains of 15hp and 5lb-ft which is less than the 25hp and 18lb-ft you gain with the tune if you are already running 93 octane.

What you posted is factually incorrect.

Interesting that the 2.7 kit allows for tires up to 35 inches but the kit for the 2.3L allows for
" Ability to change tire size up to BFG 37x12.5R17 KO2 size (2,779 mm circumference) "

2021-2022 BRONCO PERFORMANCE CALIBRATION FOR 2.3L
M-9603-B23
Maybe they figured since the 2.3L is so slow anyway, let those owners make it even slower with 37's!

Same. Is this a worthwhile upgrade for those of us stuck with 91? Or is 93 required?
Same question. I'm able to get 93 the vast majority of the time, but every once in a while on roadtrips, I find that 91 is the max. Is that ok to run every once in a while with this tune? Would that just drop the performance, or would it cause any issues?

Since I already have a Sasquatch package, the only real value here is the HP and TQ. Having a 2.3L, gaining 30/60 is pretty substantial, but is it worth the pricing? Would a piggyback system like the JB4 get me those types of gains? I just don’t know if dropping that kind of $$$ justifies the value for me, since there may be other options that could give me the same power for a lower cost. Yes, I understand the warranty aspect, but I feel that if there is a piggy back system that would give me the same gains for a lesser price point, I’d be willing to risk it. Can someone please tell me if I’m wrong with anything in my conclusion? Or if there’s anything I’m missing that would have me change my mind?
Just my two cents, but all in for the 2.3 tune maybe $1200 installed and backed by warranty isn’t outrageous. How much less would a piggy back type upgrade be? I’m new to all this but if I’m getting in the 330hp range for the 4 cylinder, that seems solid.

Like any other vehicle that you tune with a performance calibration octane is important. For optimal results using the recommended octane rating is typically the best way to go. However with that said there's an understanding that getting good octane fuel isn't always easy depending on where you are in the country or if you're traveling. So are you able to run this calibration with less octane than 93? Of course. However if you are only allowed to get low grade fuel you want to be easy on the vehicle knowing that the lower octane fuel can cause knock which in turn will pull timing out and the vehicle's performance will be lessened until it senses better octane and the timing table is increased.

Example- If you've got a 10 speed 5.0L mustang with a supercharger on it custom tuned for 93 octane but you can only get 87 or 91 you just want to drive the car normally until you get better fuel in the vehicle. Meaning don't beat the crap out of the car with the lower octane fuel. You can still drive it, just don't beat on it or race it.

Hope that helps.

At first I was happy about this but I miss read the part about gearing I thought this would help change the shift points once we get ford-performance 5.XX gears or short input shaft from ford-performance / 35+ tires this kind of sucks for 700$. If we can only go to 35 inch tires/ 4.70 gears like come on ford what's the point .

Here in California we unfortunately can only get 91 octane. Any chance this tune would benefit with 91 octane and E85 mixture to compensate for the lower grade fuel? I recall seeing tunes like that available for imports.

It’s about half of that, price wise. As far as power, JB4 is claiming 100hp/120wtq, which seems high for the 2.3L and I feel those numbers are for the 2.7L. But even half of that would be more than the power in the FP tune. I already have the 4.7 gears and 35” tires because of my Sas package, so I felt that the only value I’m getting is the increased TQ and HP. The warranty doesn’t concern me, since it would be a piggy back system and I would simply take it off for any issues. Along with that, taking the money saved and adding a new intercooler along with some charge pipes would seem like a better setup in my situation. Thanks for the input, I’m taking everything into consideration with the info I’ve been getting.
