UPDATE:
Hey gang, got my Custom Digital Fob in, and boy is it slick! For those looking for a more streamlined high-end looking fob with all the same factory functionality this thing is it. Since this is the very first iteration of not just the hardware, but also the software, I’m going to focus on the things I love about this thing, and let George handle the stuff I don’t behind the scenes so he can deliver something you’ll all love!

First off, this thing uses high quality materials for a smooth glossy black finish. Screen is hardcore gorilla glass, so it is very scratch and crack resistant. I was also pleasantly surprised how smooth the touch screen was. Compared to other small screens I’ve played with, this one is much better and far surpassed how I expected it to behave. The part of this digital fob that I personally think will be the “killer feature” is the speed at which it executes all the functions. Specifically, I’ve seen folks mention the idea a digital key isn‘t important if you already have the FordPass app, but if I had a nickel for every time I was standing outside of my bronco waiting for it to unlock, or waiting for the vehicle to start because the FordPass app was lagging, or taking forever to register inputs, I’d be a millionaire. This fob uses the board from within your key fob, so the inputs are almost instant! No more waiting for the doors to lock/unlock, or the engine to auto start.

Next steps are:
- Updating the menu verbiage and UX to be more Bronco-centric
- Adding some custom Bronco artwork to the main screen (Currently just a ford logo), I’m thinking cool 6G Broncos with color matching bodies for the color Bronco you are currently driving

- Adding custom artwork to the back of the housing, though this may be something that can be achieved by a high quality vinyl once you get it.

Looks cool. Now hit me with the retail price. :)
This is just the first test unit, but retail will be between $200-$300 once the design and UX have been completed. Definitely a luxury product from a materials aspect, not a NEED and really only necessary if it’s something you want. Sorta like the Bronco. Haha

I totally want one. No, actually I want TWO. Put me on the short list.

Is it scratched at the top?
Yep, I scuffed her up after constantly adding and removing different key rings. Was thinking of adding a silicon ring to my ring to prevent this in the future.

Like the look. Thanks for sharing. Keep us posted on performance. I tend to bump the panic button on my factory key often. Curious if this would be a better option.

Why would you want a bigger fob? The design is sleek but I thought the point was to reduce the size on your keychain?

I was hoping sleeker meant smaller. This isn’t that. If anything it looks bulkier. That’s too bad.

Sorry I was referring to the overall finish. I’ve adjusted the thread title to hopefully prevent this assumption.

The board on the inside of the bronco fob is too big to make smaller. This new housing is almost the same size, slightly taller and slightly thicker, but it offers a cool factor with its sleek design, and works much faster than the FordPass app. Is it for everyone? Nope, but I’m really digging it so far.

Performance it great, smooth touch controls and everything is instant. I’ll like it even more once the UX is more Bronco-Centric

Lots of mention of the screen and features but no shots of the screen on???
Yep, waiting for the updated UX to be flashed to the boards firmware. This is just the test model I’m using to help get all the features and functionality right. Once it gets updated and shipped back to me I’ll upload new pictures and video of the entire thing working.
