I am currently in Arizona and I'm finally starting to see around 3-4 broncos sitting at dealerships now from cancelled orders. Does anyone have experience buying one after a cancellation? Earnhardt wants 20k ADM and was willing to take 15k instead. Are there any dealerships that are willing to take a lower "premium"?

So I purchased my canceled bronco from a dealer here in NY. I just kind of stumbled upon it on the lot. The salesman goes on the test drive with me and asks if I saw it on their website. I said I had not. He said he asked because the website showed it at MSRP and they wanted 10K over MSRP. At that point, I was happy to be test driving a Bronco, and said let's see where the number end up. After some tense negotiations, when all was said and done I ended up at 5K over MSRP on my 2.3L, 7MT, Badlands standard package bronco. The only reason I agreed to 5K over was that they gave me more for my 2021 Acadia than I paid for it 1 year before.

Side note, when I did get home and finally see it listed on the dealers' website, they had it out for 25k over MSRP. All in all, I am glad I got what I got, when I got it, and for what I paid for it. I know some on here might shame me for paying an ADM, but it kind of was the perfect storm of what they offered me for my vehicle, a Bronco that met my needs, and extreme uncertainty over what the car market would look like in 12-18 months when I could get something I ordered.

YMMV, but that is my story.

There is a local used car dealership with 25 Bronco’s. 65k to 90k. You can figure out which ones are Bases and which ones are Badlands! All with low miles and probably only taken off road on Sundays.

I think it all depends on the Bronco on the lot. If it is a 4 door Big Bend with the soft top then you probably shouldn't pay over MSRP for it. If it is a 2 door of any trim or a 4 Door Hard Top Badlands, Wildtrak or Sasquatch then maybe a small premium is still warranted.

Today's interest rates and financing an extra $15,000 at 5%? Just say no.

Unless you absolutely need a vehicle, I suggest you wait until November and place an order when they open it up to new purchases and get exactly what you desire and at a solid price. . If it takes a year so be it.

I’ve bought 3 abandoned orders at 5k over. They are hard to find but do pop up occasionally. Most recently I got a Wildtrak 4 door with high package at 5 over, which was too hard to resist. I traded in my base 2 door Sas for it and they gave me more than I had in it, so it was a win/win

I'm not sure fi they have any on the lot that have been cancelled/abandoned. But I had a great experience purchasing my reserved Bronco through bell Ford. I'd recommend you contact Doug that works in Fleet Sales there. He's pretty honest guy. He would honor whatever he tells you. Maybe you could see if they'd be willing to sell you one at MSRP, or slightly above, if they have one available.

Dealer in Washington had a sticker already made if I would have backed out of mine would have been 12K over MSRP.

I bought my 22 Big Bend from Cambrian Ford in Sudbury, Ontario. It was a canceled order and I paid 4k under MSRP. Painless experience

I don't think we have the same problem in Canada. My dealer had 6 or more BB and base models at MSRP a few weeks ago. I believe most are sold now. but its not uncommon to see one or 2 sit for a few weeks. My cancelled order was on the lot for about 3 weeks and it was the cheapest 4 door there (manual BB). Most of the upper trims are pre-ordered or sold before they arrive.

I think you're right. The other Ford dealer has 5 or 6 currently. A Wildtrak, 2 Badlands, an OBX and they had 2 Big Bends last I was there. They sat for WEEKS. All MSRP

I bought mine at $1k over MSRP as an abandoned order. They were asking 15k. The kicker was my trade of a Tacoma TRD Pro which they still gave a really good price for. So a deal is possible but it depends on your circumstances. We focused on the price difference and not the pricing of each item (new and trade). We gave a price difference that we were certain they would reject...they came back within $500 of what we wanted.

Just bought my Outer Banks at MSRP on a cancelled order. Dealership wanted 7k over sticker when I went into the showroom. Also low balled me on my Bronco Sport trade. The sales manager was a real A@#$Hole and was very condescending in the negotiations. Ending up sending an email to the owner to explain what happened. GM of the dealership steps in and sells to me at sticker and trade goes up 4k.
This is a dealership that recently took over an existing Ford/Lincoln dealership.
