The guys at eTrailer are super knowledgable - I'd reach out and ask them. I'm not sure why you couldn't use the swing arm for that, but they'd know better than me when it comes to cross-brand compatibility, weight limitations, etc.
Yeah, your probably right, I will end up do that. Going by the weight specs, I figured it should work since the swing arm says 265lb capacity and my Thule is only rated to hold 150lbs.

I was thinking to get the same set up, but worried about the backup sensor, is there any issue at all? I noticed that the rack is actually blocking a portion of the bumper. Nice setup by the way.
The backup sensors are fully blocked when you use the pivot even by itself. There’s also a bug in SYNC where if you try to disable only the rear sensors in vehicle settings, it ignores the setting and blares at you whenever you put it in reverse. The only way around the sensors being blocked is to manually turn off the backup sensors from the center console button whenever you’re in reverse.

From my experience the cross/traffic alert still seems to work fine even with the pivot installed.

I have this in my 604Bronco Build Journal, but thought I'd post this separate in case anyone is looking for a good, solid bike rack that can hold quite a bit of weight.

Kuat Pivot v2 hitch extension (Kuat Part # PVP20B) & Kuat Piston Pro X bike rack (Kuat Part # PX22G):

So I am beyond impressed with this hitch extension and bike rack. It's not cheap, however you really do get what you pay for with this (IMO).

The hitch extension allows for the bike rack to pivot away from the vehicle, giving me full access to my cargo area. It opens 90 degrees... But wait, there's more! It can also open to 120 degrees, as shown by my pictures below.

The rack itself is 99% metal and it really well built, with super simple instructions to put it together and use it. It also has integrated LED lights (brakes, turn signals, etc.), which hook up to the 4 pin trailer harness.

Any questions about the hitch extension or bike rack, please ask away and I'll do my best to answer them!

Very nice! Those lights are a very nice upgrade over my "old" Kuat, with its stick on reflectors!

Anyone know if this will work with 37s on the tailgate? Hard to see how close it is to the bottom of the spare.

The backup sensor throws errors, but that's likely to happen with any bike rack.

I bought this same rack without really researching it a lot. I had an Thule T2 prior to this.

Likes:

Very solid
Easy to put my bike on
Built in taillights
Holds my mountainbike great
Built in anti-rattle and allen wrench for it.

Dislikes:

No built in latch lock so you have to use a 8' long cable to wrap around your bike to lock it. This is my biggest grip because all you have to is tap the release and your bike is easily stolen if you are going to make a quick stop at a store (even at a traffic light) to your riding destination. I live in the city so it is a concern for me.

The clicks that secure the arms are not fine enough to lock down my road bike with 75 psi of air pressure so I need to deflate the tires a bit for my road to be held tight on the rack.

The arms when folded down aren't all even - small grip but the rack is $1,500

The finish marks up easily, I was super careful putting it together and still put some chips in it that I noticed on others in the same spots that the trays go onto the main bar.

I am kinda mad at myself for not taking more time to look at it before I bought it and would of bought the NV rack with the locking latches instead. I did start a ticket with Kuat but it's really my fault. I am going to dump it on offer up when I get time and get the NV.

I did buy a swingout arm on Amazon for it. It was $150 on sale and it works perfect.

Yup, its his fancy embedded lights that have us in 'shock and awe'! That really is a cool feature!
The lights look great up against the Bronco signature lights! Whether the rack is in its upright (stored) position or loaded up with bikes - The lights are always visible, which is cool.

Thank you for sharing! I have a Rad Rover 6 as well and have been looking for options so this is perfect!
I've only had the bike for < 2 weeks, but I love it! It JUST fits on the rack, and I needed to get some fender straps (velcro) which Kuat sells for $40+, but any 8" by 1" Velcro straps should do. I also wedged a small piece of foam between the rear bike rack arm and my fender, for extra protection.

The backup sensor throws errors, but that's likely to happen with any bike rack.
Not with this one - It has lights, so it has a 4 pin trailer harness. Once plugged in, it turns off the rear sensors and cross-traffic alerts, just like it would if you hooked up a trailer. It's an added benefit of this rack over many others (IMO).

Damn it - I just removed the rack from my truck 30 minutes ago before I saw your post, and it won't be going back on for a bit. However, there is quite a bit of room between my bike (which is pretty chunky) and my 35" spare tire. I would think it should fit, but it may be tight. The hitch extension sticks out a bit past my spare tire in itself, plus the rack obviously sticks out even further.

That looks awesome! I’ll have to upgrade at some point. We just completed a 3k mile trip from CA to PA with 2 Ebikes in tow using an Amazon purchased rack. Honestly I was amazed - zero problems, so worth every penny. I’ll do a full write up on the trip when I get some time 👍🏼
