I had a 4 door wildtrack on order, but I'm now leaning toward a 2 door base model as well. Add a 2" lift after the fact, throw on some 33s and wheels and wheel the heck out of it. I'll wait till pricing comes though.

I'm conflicted! I really don't need the Sasquatch package for off-roading purposes. It'll just be for the coolness factor. I still fell that I would want/need the 2.7 with the Sasquatch. But Base 4 door + Sasquatch + 2.7 = $40,100. Which is exactly were I wanted to land.

But, I can also do Big Bend 4 door + Auto + 4.27 E-Locker + 2.7 = $39,880. With this I get a 32's and probably a more reasonable DD vehicle with more than enough off-road gear. Plus I like the stock wheels and grill on the Big Bend. Also, I would most likely save $1,900 by not get the 2.7, as the 4.27 should be more than enough for the 2.3 with the 32's.

??????????
Don, for a comparison my Jeep JL has the standard suspension, with 32's. That thing is more capable on the trails I use than I'll ever be. I guess it does depend on how you will you your Bronco. But, if you really want that "cool" factor I'm sure Ford has the Squatch package dialed in to make a nice DD. On, and BTW, I stay conflicted on which direction I'm going myself.......:)

I'm more determined than ever to have the only Bronco under $30K (not counting what I do after I buy it)

John, it looks like I'm going for that Bronco also. I started at the 4 door OB with all the bells and whistles, and worked my way down the trims to the 2 door base Bronco with the 2.3L manual. The only thing I might do is change the wheels, and tires for some 17" with 32's (but I don't know for sure if I'll even do that). That little base would fit my purpose nicely.

If you look over on the Ranger forum there's a lot of guys running 32s with the 2.3/10sp/3.73 just fine as well.

I don't know where I saved this from but I believe it's the Base interior, Right material, screen size, number of mode buttons, but it does have body color mirror caps so who knows

Picking back up with the interior discussion, I pulled these pics from the recent configurator 'hack'. Looks like the black/gray dash is accurate, only thing I noticed is that the grab handles in the base pictures look to be all gray plastic.

And no center console grab handle. I'm, sure aftermarket will have plenty of options 6 months later.

I'm anticipating something better than a grab handle for that spot, thats spot doesn't really make sense for a grab handle to me anyway. Someone joked about a giant cup holder attachment that would actually be awesome - my wife has a 32 oz vacuum insulated water bottle she has to take everywhere and it fits nowhere.

A big factor in my 2 vs 4 door dilemma is the cost. I could technically make the 4 door work financially, but it's still what like $4500+ more than the base 2 door. Like others have said in this post, it would be great to keep it under $30k.

It would've been a no brainer for me if Ford offered the base 4 door with 7sp. However, I can use some of the extra savings for modifications. Only thing I'm considering at time of purchase would be A/T tires in lieu of the A/S that come stock. Would it make sense to buy them through Ford or later on?

Im wondering if the 2.7 7sp will be alot more fun to drive than a 2.3 7sp, also when are we going to see mpg? Thats the biggest factor to help me decide what engine to go with
2.3 should have enough power to move the 2door around

They make that rig in black because it looks fat chick slimming.
Oh no, I would not pay $28500 to drive what looks like a mail truck... Any doubts I had about 16 inch 30s are now gone.

Im pretty sure no one will run those 30s until they shred, base is meant to be built up

Put some new wheels/tires on it and you’ll be fine.

The 2.7 will be auto only with the 10 speed.

What size wheels and tires can be put on the base without having to modify anything?
