PSA: Most 3rd Brake Light Extensions Won't Work on Sasquatch Package

Hey everyone,

FYI, most 3rd brake light extensions will not work with the Sasquatch package. From what I've seen, Ford raised the 3rd brake light to clear the Sasquatch 35s and because of this the holes drilled in the tire carrier have a different orientation than the non-Sasquatch Broncos.

Luckily I was able to squeeze my 37s in under the brake light without an extension.

If you invert that extension will they line up?

Unfortunately when you flip it over the bolt holes don't quite line up. The distance between the 2 bolt hole sets (see image) is different.

Yep, this Vendor could have made that extension work for both style tire carriers - missed opportunity that needs revision.

That is not RTR..... RTR doesn't sale a 3rd brake light extension. It's the hold
TIRE CARRIER or the spacer.

Mine worked by just mounting it with 2 of the bolts

Trust me when I tell u 2 bolts is all kinds of plenty, give it a try, it’s very solid and the weight it’s supporting is minimal

I bought a jeep 3rd brake light to mount inside the spare. Cleans it up and looks much better. 35 bucks.

In the end I didn't need an extension as I was able to wedge the 37 under the Sasquatch brake light.

Trust me when I tell u 2 bolts is all kinds of plenty, give it a try, it’s very solid and the weight it’s supporting is minimal

We thought of this when we designed our KR Off-Road 3rd Brake Light Extensions. We actually give you multiple mounting points. I'm rocking a 37x13.50 spare on my truck and with our bracket, clears it just fine. So even if you have a reversed mounting point, we've got plenty of holes available to mount to
