Does anyone know for sure when the 2.7L engine was built that was put in their bronco? If so, how can I tell/find out? Mine OBX was built mid December, so I thought the engine might have possible been built before that, which COULD put me in the October engine with the issue. I'm just past the 2000 mile mark, but it would be nice to feel like I don't have to worry. (I know there could always be something else, LOL)
Yes, check the thread linked below. It explains exactly how to identify your engine and when it was built. To be clear, I'm not at all saying the OP's Bronco has this issue, just letting you know how to determine the build dates of your engine.

Details here in first post: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/2-7l-blown-engine-fail-list-47-so-far-may-11-update.31951/

Speaking of Land Rovers and dependability, I checked out a couple of Helderburg 110s a few months back. If I only had the money. I'd be pretty pissed if I got one of those and it broke down, but maybe that's why they were selling the pair.
Now, that is FACT checking.🙄

Like I said, I might be a little jaded. I always said that owning a Land Rover is a beautiful thing...when they work; and when they don't, you hate life.

So, I got to thinking about something. There is a recall open, I think on the Bronco Sport, Lincoln Corsair, and Escape, for a fuel line rupture in tank.

"In all of the affected vehicles, the fuel delivery module (FDM) may have a leak in the fuel tube due to a thin fuel tube wall. The leak will be internal to the fuel tank. An FDM fuel tube leak internal to the fuel tank will cause low fuel system pressure, which may lead to engine stall and/or no start due to insufficient fuel."

I've not heard any whispers or written documentation about it affecting the Bronco, but it's something to keep in mind.

I finally got back home and tried to just the start the Bronco, nothing. Cranked starting to sound weak. Banged the fuel pump, moved some sensors around, nothing. Couldnt hear no sound from the fuel pump. Ford Service just picked her up…. Lets see what they say.

So in the old days, if your engine would crank but not start, all you did was spray starter fluid. It it started, you are NOT getting fuel. If it didn't start, you are not getting Spark.

Can this simple troubleshooting method not be done anymore with these modern engines?

What you could try to do is crank it then find the fuel rail ,there should be a Schrader looking valve on it somewhere for testing fuel pressure . Put a small screwdriver on that valve and see if pump is producing pressure, worth a try?

If you've driven Land Rovers mostly, then you are no stranger to engine issues. Lol.
My Uncle had a Range Rover and was the biggest piece of garbage i've ever seen. Block ended up having a crack in the block at 90k miles.
the new range rovers are great, have had three different ones and all have over 100k+ miles and they’re still chugging and never had an issue with them besides usually maintenance. However the earlier versions(before 2014) weren’t that amazing and had issues

Man, towed with straps going down the Cajon Pass...scary
It really was, at that point. I was fed up and was like lets just get this outta here.
Scary is one word, illegal and unsafe are others. Im glad you guys made it home okay but I have seen to many things go wrong with improper tow setups like that. The Cajon pass is a death trap under normal conditions. I hope you figure out your problem but please call a legit tow company, use the proper towing tech with safety devices or get it on a trailer next time.

So, has the dealer given you a diagnosis yet?
