If it’s grey I will Rhino/Line-X it satin black for a few hundred. Prob much cheaper than the painted shadow black and still lighter weight

Sure. Some others fade. I've got a 12 year old. Ranger with molded plastic bumper and mirrors that hasn't faded. Look how many other mirrors out there that are molded plastic that are fine.


I just don't get complaining that a product that hasn't even been released will fade when no one even knows what it's made out of yet.

"Resistant" doesn't carry a lot of meaning in marketing

While some say it's too early to say the top will fade, I'll argue that it's too early to simply take it for a fact that they won't fade.

Until these things spend a few seasons in the sun nobody really knows how they'll hold up. I'm sure ford tested, but testing isn't the real world.

I don't have a dog in this fight, hopefully they won't fade but it's too early to tell

You can take out the roof panels but not the windows. And the 2-door modular gets an additional roof panel to remove.

This will honestly be the toughest decision of the whole build for me. I know there are aftermarket soft tops, but would there possibly be aftermarket hard tops that someone would make in black. I was planning on getting dual tops, but not sure with the gray. Not a fan.

Hopefully they offer it on the lower models. Below OBX you can get a dual top with body color modular hard top, no option for black (unless your vehicle is black).

According to the surveys alot of people received to day, the hardtop finishes will be between the Molded in Color Carbonized Grey, Modular Hard Top Shadow Black Painted.

Since White doesn't seem to be an option, I'm leaning towards the MIC Carbonized Grey and simply doing a white vinyl wrap on the top myself.

I love the contrast of a light body color with a shiny shadow black top. but i like the grey too too, and think it would go well with cactus grey
