You are not the first. There is a part number on the inside of the caps. There's a thread out there somewhere that may have the part number otherwise pull the other one to get the part number.

It will have to be painted as well. Your local dealer is the most convenient option

I presumed these plastic covers were molded in color. No you say?

They are definitely base coat/ clear coat. Think about it how would you get a Metallic color like cyber orange tri coat, tinted clear coat hot pepper red, or eruption green. you can’t inject colors like that. With that said they don’t inject the pastels either, the colors would never match, the UV properties of the plastic vs. the clear coat would make them fade wildly different quickly.

Why wouldn't this be covered under warranty? Have you ever removed it before?

It should be covered, that’s why I recommended he visit his dealer, it still doesn’t change the fact that it will have to be ordered and then painted when it arrives at the dealership. Not a fun spot to be in. He will be without that piece for a month now.

Too true, just knowing the prices of anything Bronco, Ford should pay.

Might be less hassle to retrace your steps and find it, than have to deal with a Ford dealership.

I hadn't thought about it, but two of these in black wouldn't look terrible as vehicle accents. Assuming black is the raw material color, which I'm guessing it's not.

Buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen to his. He went to the dealership and asked if he could have one off the mannequins. They gave it to him.

My glove box broke the first week I had my Bronco. It was the little rail gear inside that keeps it from slamming shut. Contact at dealership told me to come up there and he took it off the mannequin and gave it to me to install at home.

Could always try that route.

Even if it's not the right color, it could be painted.
