I'll give you a chapper. My 7/23 produced unit that got lost in space....and Ford is STILL emailing me that it's coming, maybe this week......which they friggin' sold or condemned for damage in Jan or Feb, who knows? ....but DIDN'T TELL THE DEALER OR ME!!!! Now the orders are closed! I wouldn't have been able to order a new one, since the old one is still coming, according to Ford. How can you do business like that? Had it not been for some heroic effort by my dealer's owners to full court press the FORD reps and learn what happened to my old one....I'd have been screwed again. Unbelievable. Why am I still doing this?...........................

Also in So Cal. I've seen a few Rivians and just the other day saw a Hummer EV. Apparently someone in LA paid $450k for one ...talk about ADM
Was he dressed in denim and named Jay?

Whenever I am near Irvine area, I tend to see a handful of rivians. Not too much as you move away towards the IE though. In Chino/Chino Hills area I see a few Bronco owners here and there.
I saw one charging up at Fashion Island. It was olive green, and it looked pretty damn nice...

So far I have seen one Rivian. It was last weekend at Kirkwood Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe. It reminded me of a mid-90's GM product because, just like most of those, one daytime running light was burned out. :ROFLMAO:
You sure they didn't just have their turn signal on? It’s the thing I hate most about LED DRL’s. One always goes out when the turn signal is on, and it just looks weird…

.....seeing Rivian trucks on the road during my commute 5 to 1! I am in SoCal so I see a lot of cars, naturally. No Broncos, 3 Rivians. They have to be loaded with chips and options. Come on @Fordmotorcompany !!! rant over (for now)
Rivian has made about 1,000 vehicles in it's existence. Likely still manufacturing off it's first parts orders from 18 months ago.

Ford made about 6,000 Broncos last month. Now scale ordering across the entire product line and over a million vehicles built. Chances are FoMoCo goes through a higher dollar amount of toilet paper in a year than Rivian can generate in revenue from deliveries.

Rivian will get mad street cred from the high-school-gum-snapping communities, but until they can produce 1,000,000 vehicles a year without issues and with a fully functioning parts, service and distribution network, i'm not impressed enough to pretend cottage manufacturers are anything they aren't. (this includes Tesla and their months-long wait to get parts at body shops around the country)

Didnt ready any of the previous replies so excuse me if I repeat someone. I live / work in OC (Newport) Rivian Headquarters & Manufacturing plant is within Irvine with expansions in Costa Mesa and further more in Irvine. They are all over the place here similar to Broncos being everywhere in Michigan (easy transport). Broncos in OC have been popping up more and more each day however the majority have softops. I was recently in San Diego and it seemed that every other driveway had a Bronco (mainly soft top). Also seeing handfuls of broncos just sitting in lots. Really gets me upset when I talk to a Bronco owner and they tell me how late of a res they have.

While the Rivian truck base runs around $70k and the SUV getting close to $80k in a city like Irvine where that price tag is pretty common it would make sense that after getting even more funding for Rivian to keep pumping these things out. I see maybe 10 Rivian trucks a day and handful of Broncos. Once Ford gets their transport and part situation figured out im sure well be seeing them just as much as a JEEP. Maybe it would help if they pulled a move like Rivian doing in house chip manufacturing and being located to a very large tech hub.

*Edit* if I could afford a Rivian, I would buy one in a heartbeat. They are awesome looking vehicles and the SUVS too... my lord.

Most recent numbers are around 1,000-1,200 Rivian trucks built. Most have gone to employees and friends of the company. Wondering if what you are seeing are people paid to drive them around (Rivian demo cars) to spur enthusiasm and make it seem like they are producing more than they really are. Read an article in Fortune. Rivian is in real trouble. Production is considerably behind estimates. Costs are way higher than projected and other, major competitors are coming online soon with competing products. Stock was at $56 last time I checked and the recommendation, even at that level, was not to buy-in. It is expected there is still another dip coming.

Turns out making promises is easier than building real trucks. Go figure.

EDIT: Fortune article not Forbes

Many of those around the plant are likely employee owned. They have barely started non-employee/friends delivery.

Great question, message me the article I would love to read it.

Personally I dont talk to Rivian owners so im not sure the demographics of who is driving. With $10.5B in funding youd think they would be ok. I know they are expanding a service site of about 35k sf in Costa mesa made similar to the standards of tesla owners. I just did a configuration and those vehicles (The SUV specifically start at $78k with a quad motor and other features pushes it at $94K)

We will see what their earnings are tomorrow.

For the record, did spot a RT1 in Austin, which equals the amount of 2-doors I’ve seen driving around. I have a reservation for a RS1 which I am starting to believe will arrive before my Bronco. 😏

I live in L.A. and I see the real Broncos all the time. For instance, this is a block away from me, 2 of em. If I leave my house for more than a few minutes chances are I'll see one. No Rivians yet but I'll keep my eyes open.

I saw my first 2 door Bronco yesterday heading to Portland OR, going through the industrial area. I think it was carbonized grey, Sas. It looked awesome, can't wait to get my 2 dr. I also like the Rivian SUV, different market for it than the Bronco, but I like it.

I see a handful a day. It could help that I work next door to one of their facilities in Irvine. So you will see a lot around the area.
