Took a break for several days while on vacay. I am thinking about cancelling my order with gas going up this much…
You’d be better off taking delivery,
Driving it right over to Carmax and putting money in your pocket. Heard they were paying around $10-13k over MSRP. My dealer has even bought out some reservations as well. At least get something out of this mess, don’t let it be your dealer that benefits.

Also a genius idea!

If my ETA holds then it will be around 647 days from reservation to receipt and that's assuming the ETA is the date is show up my dealership which is unlikely so I will probably be around 667 days from reservation to receipt and it's not like I ordered some bespoke hypercar or sall production run euro garage queen sports car.. I have officially kicked off looking for a replacement vehicle. I will take delivery of my Bronco and I will likely sell it which is fine. I was overwhelmed with excitement in July 2020, then full of anticipation through the majority of 2021, and now I'm just indifferent, disengaged, and don't really give a shit about the Bronco anymore. I've seen then driving around my town, I still dig them, but this experience has extinguished any & all stoke I had for being amongst the first to reserve. So the net profit I expect to receive from selling my Bronco after receiving it will help finance the replacement that I hope to have in my driveway in the next 2-4 weeks.

Except, by the time we get ours, there may not be a premium.

True. Flip side is that it may be even higher. Unless you're hurting to get the deposit money back, I'd wait to cancel.

With the pause on orders after March 7 we might still see a decent premium I’m thinking??? And getting any car isn’t going to get easier any time soon I don't think. Who knows how to predict anymore. But I’d bet on still making a buck for a while.

Also having doubts and I only have been waiting a year! Can't imagine 647 days. For me , it's not so much the waiting, it's the reasoning behind the waiting and how it's being handled by one of the biggest, most profitable car companies in the world. The shortages and pandemic related issues don't bother me; it's the fact that many of us sit in a lot while others get produced and shipped. How is it possible a build exactly like mine is built no problem but mine sits? If a Ford rep would send a note saying, "this is why" then I would be ok. But it's all a guessing game and me along with others on this site have put in so much time hypothesizing on the what , when, and where.

I don't think it's much of guess that they optimize for the whole system. What gets the most broncos to dealer lots the fastest? Patching mostly built broncos, or an assembly line that produces roughly one every minute? Limiting capacity because of missing parts, or scheduling what they think they can build?

They aren't going to explicitly come out and say, we don't prioritize individual customers, but it's clear. They prioritize throughput.

Is that good customer service in a "build to order" future? Nope. I think if your build gets pulled off the line as an exception case, they should bump the next similar build, give you that next build, and let dealer inventory get the exception bronco whenever Ford can get around to finishing it.

I feel bad for you folks. Ford could have done such a better job. I was bummed when I got pushed back a week, but I guess it was a blessing.
