I'm curious to get your take on this. This is in relation to the two threads showing people working on Ice Mountain Broncos and then those Broncos leaving the lot shortly after.

Here is a pic of the MAP Bronco assembly line (according to google). You can see the green and grey crates in the background similar to the orange one. There are plenty of these photos.

Here is my theory from all our discussion/speculation:
  • Ford opted to keep producing vehicles even though they knew they were short a module(s).
  • My guess is they made this decision because they knew said module(s) would be easily added at a later point (i.e. in the Ice Mountain parking lot by a small crew)
  • It doesn't make sense to me they would keep building vehicles where the missing module required them to disassemble anything (aside from a small panel/cowl). Moving all these vehicles back onto the assembly line to take, say, the dash off doesn't seem feasible.
  • My guess is they stopped production finally as they logistically ran out of storage space at Ice Mountain/other lots
Conclusion: That video shows MAP staff beginning to insert the missing modules. The fact that those vehicles now appear to be gone from the lot further solidifies this conclusion.

And here are two (unrelated pics) of "Bronco Guy" for good measure:

Agree. The cash is waiting. A small crew let’s go for many crews please.

I like the way you think. I couldn’t imagine Ford continuing to make the Broncos and storing them on Ice Mountain if putting the modules in was something they would have to disassemble the Broncos for later. I do worry after seeing the video someone posted of snow blowing into the roof of their soft top. That’s gonna cause some damage. Are they prepared to redo interiors and electronics subjected to the elements for three months? Ice Mountain doesn’t seem as friendly as Dirt Mountain on those soft tops.

Yeeeesh thats crazy!
I know. People who were able to order the soft top either live in an area where the weather isn’t all that bad or they have a place to store their Broncos from the elements. I liked the idea of the soft top for easier removal during the summer months but I live in a place where there is snow and because of that I chose to go with the hard top. Guess I lucked out in that aspect. Maybe the guy who videoed that had a defective soft top and most do better then the one in that video. 🤞

Same here. I’m over in Buffalo and honestly I would have preferred to do a non removal more insulated top if I had the option. If it’s not Snowing here..it’s usually raining. Maybe a few months of top down driving I’ll be doing.

I could be mistaken, but I think there are still a few that haven't gotten delivered...going on 6/7 months now.
My modules populated 9/4. I’m quickly approaching 6 months and won’t be surprised if it gets to 7.

Pro tip: For those considering giving up, attend a Bronco Off-Roadeo. It’s freaking awesome and will reassure you that waiting is the right decision.

It has definitely been challenging. I've considering buying something else many times but the situation with all vehicles right now is the same. Long waits and uncertainty.
