Yes, that would work but you would have a slight lip there depending on the thickness of the plywood that you went with. The picture magnifies it slightly but both floors are nearly level with each other.

The studs stick up quite a bit also. Now, you could cut a bit off of them as they are about 1/4" longer than needed to actually secure the seat. Or you could have them go all the way through the plywood and put the nuts on to secure it.

I took a 1/2" drill bit and dimpled the plywood some on the underside where the studs stick up.

I'm considering adding some sort of bar/ brace so I can fold the rear section of plywood up 90 degrees and lock it so I can put something back there and it wouldn't be able to slide forward. Basically make an open top box in the back for groceries and what-not. You could use the seat belt mounting point to secure the bar in some way.

You can see in the left of my picture I hadn't yet removed the seat belt mounting point so there's a nice threaded hole there to use.

There's a ton of options once you take out the seats. I'm planning a next version now where one seat gets put back in as we have a grand daughter due 4/26 and she's definitely going to grow up in the Bronco! Like my kids did in our '69.

I was planning on (reluctantly) selling my DD Mercury Marauder when my Bronco gets built... but only having a 2-seater Bronco as my DD gives me good reason to keep the Marauder for the rare occasion I have more than one passenger.

For those top-off, doors-off days, I'm thinking how easy it would be to built a flat platform about 8-10" tall... with locking access panels... 2 smaller separate panels opening to the front in the front portion... and one large panel to the rear.

Time to get those dimensions and fire up PowerPoint.

But oh my, what about the children?? Where will they sit, where will they keep all their crap, how will they ever get into the Bronco? I say, who cares? My kids figured it out and so will my Grand Daughter!!

You're only limited by your imagination once the seats come out. It's pretty much a blank slate. A raised platform is well with the realm of possibility and an option I would have went with but the dogs can just jump in now, any extra height and I'm picking them up.

I lived with 2 doors most of the time when my kids were growing up. Extended cab trucks, cars, etc., back in the 80's when 4 door pick ups were not all that common. I even had sports cars- Mustangs that were 2 door and one kid. We made do, reached in to strap the kids in the car seats, load the back, trunk or bed being clever for space. The most challenging was the Fox Body Mustang- 2 door with a back seat. My daughter fit at the time in the car seat but fitting the stroller, diaper bag, etc in the trunk did not leave a whole lot of extra room. But it was doable and we managed just fine.

My kids need to fend for themselves... lol. My 23 y/o son came with me to a Bronco Experience event and got to go through the course with me in a 2dr Wildtrak. He's ordering his own 2dr Basemansquatch now. Problem solved.

After all... the best 4dr Bronco... is two 2drs.

Went by the dump yesterday to check the weight so I'd know how much I can load in later, and it was funny the lady at the entrance right off the bat "here to weigh your new truck?" cause just by looking she could tell I wasn't exactly hauling yard waste or an old mattress to dump

For those wondering: a 2-door Badland Sasquatch 2.7 with roof rack weighs exactly 5,000 lbs - I weighed myself when I got home, yeah 180, ouch...

When the front passenger seat is slid fully forward, do you feel there is still room (if the sliding track allowed) for the seat to slide further forward, before hitting the dash? Based on your photo, it seems like there is room.

If a 2-door ever becomes available to me in my lifetime, I'd like to break out the welder and rig up a slider or tilt mechanism, allowing the passenger seat to move further forward. Seems like it could significantly improve access to the rear seat.

Seats came out on day 3, now we have a nice flat floor for the dogs to use. Back seats are comfortable but getting back there not so much.

Just trying to decide on carpet of some sort of non-skid paint.

Granger likes it.

Any faults on the dash for seat belts or airbags? I read that happened to someone that took seats out.

My '93 Explorer Sport 2dr had the seat launch forward when pulling the release lever with plenty of room to get in and out. I tried a 2dr Bronco at the Off-Roadeo and found it much less workable but I ordered a 2dr knowing the back seat won't be needed that much with both boys out on their own now, plus I simply like the 2dr look better.

I had a 91 and I agree. There's 5" more travel room available for the Bronco seat, that would help a lot.

I did the procedure to disable the seat belt warning from each rear seat. I did have an air bag light that I couldn't get rid of so I took the female seat belt buckles off the seats and connected them to the wiring harness and left them under the mat. That eliminated the airbag light.

I considered a jumper wire across the harness but was concerned about damaging the airbag module.

Page 56 of the manual, but it's wrong, you need to wait about 1 min, or until the seat belt warning goes off before starting the procedure.

The manual says 5sec but you need to wait for the seatbelt light to go off, about 1 min.

I disabled all seating positions, I like to ride in the woods with no seat belt, gasp!!

Just installed these paracord grabhandles they make them in dozer yellow which matches the badlands orange interior pretty good

Has anyone put these in the rear position yet?

But I think I need something that hangs down more than that for the kid to reach.

Mines a 2 door don’t think there’s a spot to put these in the back if you have a 4 door there is but not positive on that
