So…I have been following the Bronco since Ford announced the original reservations. Fast forward to the last few months, I found myself doing more and more research on the new Bronco, which like everyone else, led me to here. I was also watching more and more YouTube videos on the new Bronco, so admittedly my excitement was starting to build.

There‘s more to my origin story, but I think thats a good start. As of Saturday, February 5, 2022, I placed an order for a 2022 Bronco Badlands Advanced 2.7L 4D in Eruption Green. And then of course shortly after, I read that there will be more delays…which in the grand scheme of things I’m in no rush, and it will give me more time to add to the funds I’ve earmarked for the purchase.

I’ve had a long history with off-road capable vehicles, all dating back to when I got my first SUV - a 1992 Jeep Cherokee. Now, I have a 2007 Toyota Cruiser that I love dearly. However… the Bronco has won my heart. Not only that, it is both the first Ford product I will have owned (assuming I ever will be able to take delivery of it), and the first time I’ve ever ordered one to my specs. Needless to say, I’m pretty stoked, and seeing posts of everyone else on here taking delivery of theirs, modding that has been done, and adventures that have been had, has just increased my excitement for mine.

Enough of the rambling. Hello, and thanks for having me!:)

Welcome!

Thanks, and sure thing - I ordered from Currie Ford in Frankfort.

I had called around to a few dealerships in the Chicagoland area; one gave me a lead time of at least a year, a couple of others had no time estimate. Currie had allocations available and had indicated a 12-16 lead time for a build. Of course, this was prior to Ford announcing the plant shut downs, so it’ll be interested to see how much it affects lead time for my build.

For me, it’s kind of not a big deal as I am in no rush for delivery.

Where did you order yours from?

I originally ordered day 1 from the dealer the Ford site recommended, I think it was Fox Ford because it's the closest to my house but not 100% sure. I cancelled that order and placed a new order at Granger a couple days later. I didn't know we would be able to switch dealers. I've called around to a few dealers and couldn't get any local dealer to put a price in writing. Fox Ford told me on the phone that they would put the price in writing. After driving there, they said they didn't need to put the price in writing and I should "trust them" that they wouldn't do ADM. Saturday they called me with an available truck with "only $20k ADM. Happy I stayed at Granger, guess I'll just need to wait. I hope you get yours soon!!

Oh yeah, I heard the horror stories of dealerships pulling the rug out when a customer’s bronco finally arrived by slapping a massive ADM on it.

When I went through the process with Currie, their sales rep had mentioned a few times that broncos that are factory ordered would not be subject to ADM. Before I went to the dealer, I confirmed at least twice that there would be no ADM, and that I would be paying MSRP when ordering through them.

The process for the most part went smooth, up until it didn’t. We went through the options, the sales guy went to grab some paperwork, then came back with some numbers - they had tried to sneak a $2k ADM in. I told them that wasn’t going to fly, and that I had confirmed more than once that ordering through them that I would be paying MSRP and no ADM, and considering that I had driven over an hour to select them to place my order through, I wasn’t going to be happy if they pulled this at the last minute. Thankfully, they did their thing, and took the ADM off. Got everything in writing, and signed off on the agreed price (MSRP). This was the key lesson I had learned from the previous horror stories I had heard, so I made sure everything was in writing before I signed off.

Now, the wait begins….

I’m actually a little over an hour away from Frankfort - about 45ish miles away.

How was your buying experience at Currie? Like a lot of people, I’m always weary of having to go to dealerships and deal with salesmen, even more so this time around since this was my first new American domestic car purchase. But initially, Currie Ford was a positive experience. Sure, they tried to slide a $2k ADM in, but immediately pulled it back when I said something.

I also ordered from Currie because I live in the area and have had good experiences with their service department in the past. Reservation date of 7/16/20 and I just got my build date of 3/7/22. I have been told a few times that they are selling at MSRP and have some paperwork that will reflect that so I don't see having issues with them.

I appreciate your insights. Sounds like what I experienced and what you mentioned are consistent with what Currie told me.

Thanks!

Hour north or south??? I work in Manteno and didn't order my Bronco from them . They were ok I guess. My salesman Jim was great, but when you got to the sales manager, he naturally was the "bad cop" in the deal. I can't complain, love my truck and makes it easier to be patient waiting for my Bronco to be built.
