An update for any Canadian customers (my 01/24/22 build week peeps @npm5150 @kellycourtney) -

As of this AM, the US Ford Vehicle Tracking site doesn't report on VINs allocated for Canada (it will now display a red, "This is not a US VIN, please visit Ford Canada Vehicle Tracking to track Canadian VINs" error).

Selecting the ford.ca redirect and filling out the equivalent form yields a HTTP 404 error and no results. :(

Unfortunately, we're completely in the dark right now re. being affected by the chip shortage.

Almost a certainty that this will effect everybody's rig no matter the trim or spec. The only two options that run across all trims and haven't been ruled out yet are the num pad on the door and the aux switches.
I have both the door key pad and aux switches and currently still sitting at 2/28/22 EDD....for now.

In theory, if the line isn't running, those that haven't gotten chips aren't getting deeper into the stack. I worry more if they keep production moving and adding to the backlog.

@Ford
Today is the first day I am not able to see my tracker - last I saw was last night EDD was bumped from 02/12/2022 to 05/13/2022. I also got an e-mail from my sales man saying I am indeed on the microchip shortage list with an ETA of May delivery.
I'd love to see this "microchip shortage list" your dealer has.

looks like we'll have more news tomorrow-ish

"Ford’s production is still being impacted.
Ford’s production continues to be impacted by the chip shortage. Earlier in January, Ford had to take downtime at its Flat Rock assembly plant due to the chip shortage. We'll hear from Ford's management on Feb. 3 when the company releases the earnings for the fourth quarter of 2021.

Yup. I am on the tail end of the 1/28 blend dates. Expected Mods to pop last night or this morning but they have not.

Hopefully my half-build is nice and cozy on the line until they open back up.

Anyone else planning to listen to the earnings call this evening?

I was thinking about making it a game..
🍻 every time microchip is mentioned
🍻 every time reservations are mentioned
🍻 every time supply chain is mentioned
🍻 every time Farley brags about average selling price above MSRP
🍻 every time artificial “produced” numbers are quoted
🍻 every time a new vehicle is hyped (bronco raptor, lightning, etc)
At this point, I don’t need a drinking game, I need an intervention.

Without knowing what Ford's standard practice is in this type of scenario, it's a coin flip whether they attack the backlog at a FIFO (first-in first-out) approach, or a LIFO (last-in first-out) approach. Might be able to discern what their standard practice is based on how dirt mountains were rolled out (who got theirs first). Of course, for all we know, it may be neither and they just pick keys out of a hat, or ask the go-fers to just pick their favorite color for the day and go get those to be finished.
