Hey thanks for infoI had heated seats installed last weekend. $150 for the front seats plus another $150 installed. $300 total. Sure beats the $10,000 it would have cost me to get no carpet and a manual transmission. Lol. A local car stereo place sold me the seats and did the install.
Did you install the type that have a heating element that gets inserted inside the seat bottom and seat back - or the type that straps over the seat? Some local auto accessory shops will not install the inserted heating element type on vehicles with occupancy weight sensors. I understand that it may cause an air bag warning light to trigger (like when a bag of groceries sits on the passenger seat). And I don't know if there is an override for this - or if it would be legal to do so if there was. If you had the heating element inserted type, did you have any air bag warning light issue?I had heated seats installed last weekend. $150 for the front seats plus another $150 installed. $300 total. Thanks - Good to know. I only wish that your shop was in NE Ohio rather than NW Ohio and I would make the trek to your shop from Pittsburgh. Your cost was very reasonable for inserting inside the bottom and back of two seats.Well, I’d think that the fact I paid a shop to install would have made that clear but you did ask a good question. It’s the kind that you have to remove the seat cover so the heating element is inside the seat. They were concerned about the same things with the sensors but they were able to figure it out, so I take that to mean it didn’t involve anything that compromises the sensors.
Car Stereo One is the name of the shop. I bet you could call them and they should now have a good understanding of how long it would take to install. It might be worth it if you have anything to do in Toledo. Thanks - Good to know. I only wish that your shop was in NE Ohio rather than NW Ohio and I would make the trek to your shop from Pittsburgh. Curious as to where they put the on/off switches - on sides of seats, on top or on sides of console, on dash, used auxiliary switches...I don’t think they have a franchise, but I’m sure lots of places can install.
Katzkin has an option that includes a cooled/heated seat combo. See my build here: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/katzkin-leather-w-cooled-heated-seats-install.44229/Who sales them what's the cost and has anyone on this forum done it themselves
