I am null for 721 too.

So, I just went in digging and found a thread from may 21 where someone had found the same
Link. There were a few responses that people who were shipped/delivered also had NULL for the same
721 code.

I found it too. For a HOT minute we had a MAYBE reason…..and we are back to NO reason

Definitely want to see what someone who is shipped or delivered already sees when they do this. If it still says null then it doesn’t mean anything. But if it does show a date I think we’ll have an answer. At least that’s something vs the nothing we all have to go off of right now.

I checked the inventory of a dealership near me, there's a Bronco in transit that has null for VDM 721, but there's a Bronco on the lot and it does not have null for VDM 721. So something happens after delivery that populates that field I'm guessing.

According to this, the VDM is initiated when the vehicle is started, but it's hard to believe that doesn't happen during QA at the MAP.

There is a thread in the F-150 Group from May of this year in which several people say they were shipped with VDM 721 null. So not exclusive to '22 and not the rate-limiting/chip-missing factor for shipping.

Purgatory sucks. Dealer sees no reason for delay on his vehicle viz screen. My delivery date has not even been bumped, like most all the others in Purgatory (In Production).

Makes me wonder if my truck is gonna be in the, Forgotten Batch.

Gosh I hope not. they really need to finish what they started before cramming more into the assembly line. I don't know... just seems like common sense to me

Sunday evening report.

I spent the better part of the day removing rail dust and contaminates from the paint.
It was a mess. I usually use Iron-X but didn't have any so I bought this and it worked perfect.

Lots of videos out there on how to do this, but it really isn't hard just time consuming.

After that, we pulled off the tops to get them cleaned and detailed.
Complete interior cleaning and removal of all window stickers and tags left from delivery. (my choice)

Then the wife and I went on a road trip so she could get used to "her new Bronco"

We found a neat wall mural and pulled around back to take a few pictures, but way too much traffic to do much.

But if you know you are in transit, that counts as getting out Purgatory. If the tracker switches to Built, that gets you out of Purgatory, too.

And...if you get the surpise call..."It'sHere, come get it"!, that definitely gets you out of Purgatory!

Sorry for the delayed response, but thinking about it more I think you're right and it should be last out of purgatory. And either of those 3 you mentioned qualify as getting out of purgatory.

Are you going to get any coatings, e.g., ceramic? Why or why not?

I will get the Nano Coating for sure, but probably not the PPF.
I will have the paint inspected and get their recommendation on any corrections, but to my eye, it is as close to perfect as I have seen.
While I like the idea of PPF I am not convinced it is what I want.
I really like to use my hands on the paint/clearcoat to find any imperfections.
We shall see.. I am supposed to bring it by next week to a shop, but the wife might not let me.
