I am doing it in hopes I can track it from MAP. Once its shipped, I would be happy, but using an app to track it is so much easier and 2022 than calling an 800 number for an automated response like the 90's when you called MovieFone to get showtimes at a theater.
According to the instructions in the app, the motor has to be turned on to activate the app. Do they drive it (or roll it) off the train to the truck? If drive, it would make sense to hit the in-app activation button once/minute. :D

Edit: My computer scientist hubby says it's theoretically possible to write an app to push the activate button inside the FordConnect app as often as you want--need the IPC (interprocess communication) code from Ford or a hack to that effect. :devilish:

Ha .

Well this is in the sense of being North Carolinian….

I guess I can switch it to “another old North Stater!”

Doesn’t have quite the same ring to it!
If you are from North Carolina you are a Tar Heel whether or not you support Carolina. Sorry, but those are the rules.
Now recite the official state toast three times.

She’s home!! However I have a question about this metal bar, maybe part of the suspension. It’s not straight (at all). Is it supposed to be?

That’s the panhard bar, or track bar. It keeps the rear axle centered (or Located) in the vehicle. Part of a 5 link rear setup.

And it’s supposed to be angled like that, all good.

There’s a lot more simpler ways to do that since we all have an account. No need to have access to Fords code! 😂😂😂

So, fun fact I learned about the front camera and parking sensors today - it doesn't take much heavy and wet snow to render them inoperable.

So, might want to keep a rag up front for sensor clean off.

I like this option. I hope my dealer will match the price.. I have it all printed out and ready.
I didn’t even print it- I showed him on their website. But it says price expires Jan 31. He showed me what they make off it at that price and it’s not much.

What is the simpler way? The activate button won't initiate the GPS tracker til the ignition is turned on. So I'm somewhat tongue-in-cheek thinking to automate the process of pressing the button once/minute to catch those few minutes when the truck is driven off the train onto the truck, if that's how it's done. Don't want to be glued to my phone app for however many days it takes to get on the truck. o_O
