Gotcha...I'm used to the 'No-Fault' insurance here in Michigan, where your insurance takes care of your vehicle, regardless of fault. The other car ran a light and struck me, definitely going on her insurance. And definitely depreciation! If you had 2 identical Broncos, but one carfax said "front end collision", what kind of discount would you expect? That's what I'm due.
That's generally not how it works though. They'll pay to make your car whole, assuming it's not ridiculously out of line to do so. But they won't pay you any extra for lost value. The other car ran a light and struck me, definitely going on her insurance. And definitely depreciation! Did the air bags deploy? Glad everyone is OK.Just wanted to share my experience after having a minor accident yesterday.
Girl ran a red light and ended up having an offset head on collision with my wife, pretty slow speed. Caught the brunt on the tow hook.
Basically just a plastic trim piece around the hook and the grille. Pretty significant damage to the offender though. Nice to see they're pretty burly in an accident.
Hit me up with questions if you're curious!

There is an entire division for "diminished value" as a previous poster said. That's generally not how it works though. They'll pay to make your car whole, assuming it's not ridiculously out of line to do so. But they won't pay you any extra for lost value.
No airbags, maybe if the fender got hit where the sensor is, not sure how that works.Did the air bags deploy? Glad everyone is OK.
