Here’s what I got, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. You may need different size balls, for example. Also, the accessories pictured are being returned because I’m going with a lighter weight setup. I’ll post those links instead.

This is for my iPhone. If the MagSafe isn’t strong enough, I’ll just get something more secure…

thanks! here's another one that someone posted over a year ago when forum members first started getting excited about the elusive BYOD rail. appears to have 2 different mounting types.

I apologize in advance but I'm about to order the BAM Rail and have what may be a stupid question I haven't see answered yet. Because I have no experience with Pitcatinny rails, I'm wondering about the differences between the smooth rail and the track rail. Would really appreciate someone explaining the pros and cons of each and whether or not they use the same mounts. I prefer the look of the smooth rail but suspect that the track rail might provide a more solid mounting platform.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. KUDOs to AR for designing such a functional, high quality and attractive accessory!

nah. $220.
Go ahead and price out the things you would need to somewhat duplicate it, in cheaper materials, from China, and without the engineering to go along with designing the way the end feet take pressure off of the center mount.
I went homemade on my Jeep TJ with Kayak T rail, all kinds of Ram Mounts, etc. 3M VHB tape to mount it. I had about $150 wrapped up in the setup.
And it sucked.
It didn't flow well with design, was just kind of...there.
It performed its function of holding a phone, most of the time.
Anything else, it sucked at, and even the weight of the arm and phone caused the VHB to let loose every month or two and I'd have to reapply. GoPro footage was so jittery it was pointless. IT would not hold the weight of my phone AND my GoPro. And you could forget a handheld CB/GMRS.
I didn't want to run screws into my dash on the Jeep.
At the end of the day a machined, purpose-designed piece of functional artistry does cost more than DIY. And it does for a reason.
Yes, it's fairly expensive. But not bad once you dive into what went into it, why it works the way it does, and what it provides you in the end.
But if you want trouble-free, steady mounting solutions for your dash it's the best thing going at the moment.
Lol. But you still gotta add $150 to $200 worth of mounts to it!

YOLO, brotha!
😂
Yeah. I know. I’m hoping all my RAM mount stuff will be the right lengths and such .
I did buy a couple of picatinny-ball mount adapters.
if not, yeah, I’ll spring for that cool carbon fiber one I’ve seen a few times on here.

Looks great. I’ll be reselling my AR rail depending on how far the 67D rail goes as I want I to be able to support a device all the way left and right

I think I'm gonna gradually go with arca Swiss quick releases for cameras and phone and whatever else...mounted to a cheese plate to the 1/4-20 Bronco accessory hole. 🤷
This rail LOOKS badass though 👍

Nice! Similar to mine, but I have a TackForm telescoping arm instead of the 67D.

I finally got these 67 Designs phone/GPS arms to go along with this rail - work perfectly and hold a ton of weight with no movement at all - this is a simple fix to hold a couple of devices.

Do you guys know anything about the cost of Billet Aluminum, not to mention anything else involved in the process of making this rail? It's not a piece of cheap plastic, it's an engineered piece of beautiful sauciness. Haters will hate.
I got mine and put it in this morning... and just want to say that I whole heartedly agree with this post. 👆

It is very high quality and really is a work of art.

Also, the packaging is great and adding the stickers and Bronco patch were a nice touch.

Recommended!
