' . . you talk about vengeance . . is vengeance going to bring your Bronco back to you or my Bronco to me ? . . . but I'm a superstitious man . . and if some unlucky accident should befall . . . or struck by a bolt of lightening, then I'm going to blame some of the people in this room . . . . . '
Look how they massacred my Bronco...

Seems we are still climbing up the bell curve of mileage too, soon we will reach the period of maximum complaint.

Hi, the photos in OP are just examples - not blown engines, and not mine - still waiting for sched here -
so far the failed engine build-dates run 21159 - 21224 - see table in OP -
21306 looks in the clear so far - too early to say for sure - not too many 300's w miles on em yet - but looks good so far
Hope so. I'm 21305. So Nov. 1st! Mind you I only have about 270 miles on mine.

- yeah so far you're more than 2-months outside the 'failure range' -
- maybe the failed engines were all built in same couple months -
Time will tell!! 😬 Lol

I will be doing an update tomorrow. I have been blowing up Ford Motor via phone and e-mail to every department and Executive and can find contact info on. I received a call from Michigan yesterday, promising me an update sometime today (Tuesday 1/11/21). After that call, I will do a post about what the dealer told me yesterday vs what Ford Michigan tells me today. Fingers crossed it's good news.
Sure we are waiting for your reply. I have been also doing some research regarding Ford motor it's services and ford's return policy. Let's hope for some good news.

@da_jokker -What's your take on the broken timing chain and the cam phaser issue on two different Broncos ? Could a cam phaser failure at this low mileage be caused by lack of oil to the it ? Under extreme conditions can a failed cam phaser cause a timing chain failure ? Thanks
If you take the bad batch of valves out of the equation, there are still going to be a few engine failures. IMO, nothing suggests these engines are starving for oil, whether you have 6 or 7 quarts.

Now that is not to say that a Cam couldn't get out of phase and keep a valve open too long, but nobody seems to have talked about dropping more than one valve, and if it was a cam phasing issue, there'd be multiple valves still in the way of the piston.

I mean it's just my take, but I still think it's isolated to either the valve stem giving out, or something in the retaining mechanism. I don't know how many valves were part of this so-called bad batch, but with 12 intake valves per engine, and we're up to 24 engines... I would hope the bad batch would have been used up by now.

* Edited for VTT corrections

Possible a worldwide recall . I'm either waiting for things to get better or get a 2.3 myself when I order . I'm in no hurry maybe the V 8 will replace the 6 cylinder.

You want to see some people who want to bury any issues with the bronco so badly? Head over to BN. Holy cow- if we depended on them to get things in the open- the MIC 1.0 would still be shipping. They just don’t want to hear any evidence of any issues. Unicorns and rainbows over there!

** threads covering their repair experiences - (lines 17, 10, 12, & 1)

- so far the engine build-dates run 21159 - 21224 - see how to read Engine Ser#

- in October a Ford Lima employee (@Jay3630, deleted soon after) made five posts re 'bad batch of brittle valves' - 'April batch' - see posts #1, #2, #3, #4, #5
- if the failures are caused by 'bad valves', maybe that 'April batch' has been working its way thru the system - then the problems could subside ?
- late October a Ford Service Technician wrote a post re the frequency of failures nationwide - he said 'about thirty in the last month . . recorded in the Ford Technicians Forum page'

If Your Engine Fails - dealer service of course - also :
- good to call Ford Customer Svc - expedite repair, communication, cover rental
- good to send VIN & full name to @Ford Motor Company here in B6g
- engine ser# would be very helpful in B6g build-date tracking efforts

example Engine Ser# Labels -

engine ser# & build date 21160 c.jpg

engine ser# & build date 21308 c.jpg

- B6g trying to see if the failures are confined to a range of engine build-dates
- maybe they were all built in same couple months ? - see also 2.7 Failed Engine Tracking Thread
- for 13 of the engine failures we have the build-date info

I was just checking this post and noticed that my engine, 21175, is listed here. It did not drop a valve. Typo?

Never mind... I just realized that's just the date code... but great. I guess I need to be wary.
