There probably isn't any difference between tops, they are probably just QC checking more to toss the bad ones. I dont know if that's pessimistic or just realistic.


Did you take it in?
I'm going to call them tomorrow. The dealer I got it from is about 45 min from me. Thanks for sharing that other link so I can at least point to other people having the same issue.

Damn. This top is just cardboard how is it going to hold screws in after let's say a year? That's wild lol you would think thwy would have molded in some metal inserts so the screws actually hold.

You can take it to any Ford dealer, you don’t have to go to the one you bought it from. Some dealers may have a better service department than others, that would be the larger consideration for me vs geography.

Long term I’m curious if the ESP will cover things like this after the factory warranty is up. I’d be upset if this failure happened at 37K miles and wasn’t covered.
