Is there any reason the mirror replacement can't use the built in wire for the auto-dimming mirror? I've seen some other dash cams that can come off that wire with a passthrough adapter. Just curious while I continue to weigh camera options.

I'm watching the install video and I'm guessing because of the built in speaker?

Edit: Ah. I think I'm remembering my adventure cam that's my current dash cam and it has a charging cable that can pass through the mirror plug, but since it has its own onboard battery, wouldn't need to draw a lot of power from the vehicle itself.

The mirror machine of our current product cannot be powered from the rearview mirror, but it can be connected to some external batteries for power supply, so that it does not consume the battery of your car. We are also considering the production of such external battery accessories.
