What is this part? Has an adjustable lever.

My 2023 OBx is new to me. Just about 5000 miles. I went to fill the washer fluid and saw the lever and part circled below. I did some googling and tried to find a parts schematic but I failed haha
It looks like the lever is adjustable? But why?

Also, full disclosure. It took me longer to find the washer fluid reservoir than I care to admit

That's the data connector for the AWD module, which is the silver electronics box to the left of the connector with "FoMoCo" stamped on it.

The thing you thought was an adjustable lever is actually a locking mechanism to ensure the data connector doesn't fall out.
