Finally got around to installing the front/rear dash cam purchased a few months before the Bronco arrived last Feb. Used info found in the linked thread for fuse taps and what fuses to use. Since the front mounting and cable runs are pretty well documented I won't go there.

First time with a dash cam and have some learning on transferring files along with figuring out the settings. The thinkware alerts to upcoming red-light cameras and speed cameras, in addition to the alert it triggers a recording at the camera. The default sensitivity is very high, triggers an alert and recording going over speed bumps.

I did a few things different for the rear camera since others have reported the double sided mounting tape does not stick to the roll bar plastic. On the center rear there is a curved in section and after getting some light on the area it actually says "Accessory Ready" next to the plastic panel plug. Popped the plug and it is a through hole. Grabbed a piece of scrap aluminum, 1.5" panel blank for a 19" equipment rack, cut about 5" off put in the vice and bent it over. Drilled a 1/4" hole and filled the sharp edges down. Done with the mount. Others may have already done this but I haven't seen it posted.

I did have to remove all the rear roof bolts to lift the top enough to drop in a 1/4-20 stainless bolt in that I had in the coffee can of misc hardware. If the mounting tape does not hold I will just put a self tapping screw through the bracket into the camera mount. Used a small round file to cut a relief into the plastic since it pulls up tight to the cross bar. Side note if curious what is behind the plastic on the left and right side it is the airbag compressed gas cylinder's.

For the cable routing I went a different way. Was getting ready to drop down the door frame and follow the sill plate like others but then I changed my mind. I am sure some are going to say what I did will cause me to die in an accident but those are the same people that say web grab handles interfere with the airbag deployment. I noticed the rolled up air curtain had a thin piece of plastic between it and the frame and you could easily slide the 1/8" cable behind it. I will take my chances that the 1-2 degree deployment angle change of a blowup curtain is within the acceptable design fudge factor. The cable never touches the curtain and used the supplied cable hanger tabs along with some ty-wrap blocks I had to secure the cable in place. If there were multiple cables or if it was larger diameter I would have gone the other route.
