Bringing in my bronco to get the soft top liner fixed for the second time. I’m wondering what other people’s experiences are with getting their soft tops replaced when this happens.

The first time they just glued back and honestly, I could’ve brought it back probably last year, but the top was off most of the summer and during the winter I use a gearshade.

I haven’t yet talked to the dealer about it, but I made the appointment. I’m just curious what my chances are of just getting a new soft top Instead of the dealer gluing it again?

I just had mine replaced over the summer. There is a new service bulletin stating that it needs to be replaced, they can no longer glue it back in place. Tell your dealer to look up the bulletin if they say they want to glue it. My neighbor is the service manager at our local ford dealer, let me know if you need the the SB number.

My entire soft top was replaced last summer. Just be careful about them not doing a good job leaving rivets behind as it will make lots of noise on the turns. Took them several more trips to get them out.

Did they replace the fabric only? Or did they swap out the entire assembly (frame+fabric). Id have to imagine replacing the fabric would be tedious and a pain for a dealer to do.

It's TSB 21-2486. Just to clarify, they replaced the whole fabric portion of the top. They reused the frame. I did not have the rivet issue @BroncoOB had, but I'd definitely keep a close eye for the trash. Good luck!

So, good news is I got the new 2024-style soft top with the rain seam.

Bad news is the dealer tore up and scraped the heck out of my roll bar - even the new ppf I had put on it this past summer -completely trashed.

Waiting to hear from dealer....

Hello there,

My soft top is also experiencing issues. It just started happening this past winter as it has been exceptionally windy and snowy. I came out this morning and the entire back seat and cargo area was filled with snow. My Bronco is a 2021. Would I simply call the dealer and reference the TB #? I am still within the warranty, but need to contact them ASAP before I’m not.

Thank you for any advice/help you can provide.

Sorry for the late reply; only the fabric. This was why I had to return it several times since they left rivets in the frame. One important finding: I believe the new soft top has a line on each side above the doors to channel rain, or maybe I missed this on the original soft top.

This happened to me, very annoying. Now my replacement fabric top is separating again. Dealer doesn't know what to do about it.

Its so sad to read all of these issues with the soft top.

I have only 32000 miles on my vehicle but the warranty has expired, its now exhibiting really bad peeling and the dealer has said that unfortunately they can't replace it under warranty.

I won't spend the crazy money they are asking for a new soft top fabric (same price as a new aftermarket hardtop). I suspect they have changed the adhesive or manufacturing process since this issue is not active for 2025 vehicles

It's clear that they have a manufacturer defect and should step up to fix regardless of when your vehicle exhibited the symptoms of the defect, it doesn't change the fact that they installed a defective part on my car.
