I wanted the Ford slide out tailgate, but they never got them for factory install before my ‘22 was built. So I made my own solution to bridge until those are available after market. I also maintained access to the Jack and storage cubby.

Easy parts lists:
Kiln Dried 4x4’s
4x8 sheet
24 inch heavy duty slides
A marine grade carpet
Piano hinge
4 tie downs
The rest are bolts, washers, screws, and staples.

I didn’t make full plans list, but if you can build with wood this is not too difficult. The one tip I do have is the angle for the wood up against the backseats is 35 degrees. I cut that with a mitre for the 4x4 and ripped that end of the plywood with a table saw, both set at 35. I also used a pressed board for the platform. I only need this to last one to two years until I can get my hands on the Ford option. And I wanted to keep the cost under $150, with half of that being the slides that I’ll repurpose. But you could easily use a marine grade wood and get many years out of it.
